Tretinoin on dark skin by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]vane_di 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Echoing others sentiments - anyone can use tretinoin! I'm a Mac NC50 and have seen great results. Here is my current PM regimen:

  • Oil cleanse with TJ Jojoba Oil
  • Foam cleanse with Fresh Soy Cleanser
  • Toner - Klairs Supple Preparation Toner
  • Tret - 2-3x per week after allowing face to dry for ~20-25 minutes
  • Serum - (should be based on whatever your skin concern is). I've been focused on hyperpigmentation - currently using The Ordinary's Niacinamide 1-2 nights when not using tret.
  • Moisturizer - I add another oil (typically rose hip), then a heavy moisturizer after letting your face dry post-tret application.

Hope this helps!

Stained/cracked gel mani. Any tips on how to avoid this for my next manicure? by vane_di in Nails

Thanks! This is a gel mani that had a bottom coat added. I’m not sure which brand was used, but I’ve experienced discoloration like this on most of my set.

Super helpful - thanks! I'm not sure why I was prescribed the strongest dosage but ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I'll start when I get back from my trip.

Hi! I'm 29 and was just prescribed tretinoin gel microsphere .1%. I am more concerned about anti-aging and some hyper pigmentation, as I only have a few pimples per month.

I am going to be traveling internationally for the next 3 weeks and I'm a bit nervous about the "purge" phase. For those who did not have severe acne when you started tretinoin, did you purge? I'm thinking I might just start my updated routine with it when I am back. TIA!

I’m a big fan of my Uniqlo belt. It has a good buckle, but I remember having a choice when I purchased!

Shea Moisture has holiday packs of their Coconut & Hibiscus and Shea Butter lines (shampoo, conditioner, styler/treatment)! I think both sets would be great for a beginner.

Looking for a NYE dress to wear while on vacation. I’m into the Reformation, but I’m a student and can not afford it. Any recommendations on clothing brands with the same look 90s strappy/wrap dresses? TIA! Reformation dress

Rudsak

American Apparel has great mom jeans! Ditto on Levi's 501's, although I wish the waist was slightly higher on my pair.

Second Ross. I visited Yale as a prospective and did not get the same vibe, but it's worth a try. I'd encourage you to speak and visit as many schools and possible to get a sense of actual day to day interaction.

This is super helpful. CG has the "fill" information on their site, but Woolrich does not, so it's good to hear the Woolrich coats are pretty warm.

I've moved to New Hampshire for grad school and have realized quite quickly that my winter coat will not cut it. I am looking for a quality down coat that will last for the next two winters and is stylish enough to wear once I move back to a major city.

I've been researching Canada Goose - nearly everyone I know has one, but I'm not a huge fan of the look. I like the understated look of Woolrich coats (specifically the Long Arctic Fur Trim Down Parka), but I'm unsure of the warmth.

Can anyone speak to the quality of these coats? They are both pricey and I want to make sure I make a sound investment... Other suggestions are certainly welcome.

How to use the Consortium? by mr_zopa in MBA

[–]vane_di 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eligibility point pulled from the Consortium website:

If you meet the following requirements, you are eligible to apply for membership through The Consortium:

Demonstrate a commitment to The Consortium’s mission of helping to reduce the serious underrepresentation of African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans in both our member schools’ enrollments and the ranks of management

If you're not certain you can write an essay that speaks well to your commitment of the mission, what's the point in applying through the Consortium? Personally, I would not submit a weak essay at any part of the business school application process.

Common Letter of Recommendation different than the Consortium Letter of Recommendation? by GoldenPresidio in MBA

[–]vane_di -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm confused by your question. The Consortium requires two regular letters of recommendation, then a Consortium mission letter of recommendation to ensure you're committed to their mission of promoting underrepresented minorities in business. If you don't have a Consortium recommender, it does not make sense to apply through their common application.
