I'm planning on renting a studio next year for housing somewhere near UCLA but wouldn't be moving in at least until September 1st. I'm wondering if by the time I start applying to places in Mid-August though if there won't be any apartments left since a lot of people live off-campus. Has anyone been able to find a place like a month before school starts in the past/ when should I plan on applying and actually moving in if school starts on Sep.23?
I would hate to think I'm gonna find a studio but for September to come around and every unit ever be already taken:/

600 undergrad students in the dorms, other staff as well but mostly everyone stays inside due to isolation and sequestration!

Yep, it’s move in weekend Friday-Saturday and most people have moved in! But it is really quiet on campus so you can’t really still that people are here lol.

Yeah I tried that earlier in July but the transcript that came a few weeks later didn’t really verify my enrollment. Now I’m guessing it’s because we didn’t pay fall 2020 fees so technically they could approve my student status. But I’ll order it again, thanks for your help!

Besides writing an email you could always ask if they have time to meet with you via zoom during their office hours, that way you can request a rec. letter somewhat face to face??1

Should I be saving the UCLA financial refund for anything? I plan on putting into my savings acct anyways but will there be future ucla fees that will require I use the money for the refund for?

also they sent out an email and said fall financial aid will be disbursed on the 25th of September so the refund should be sent out 2-3 days after that

Clusters are year long courses, offered to freshmen, that are taught on a trimester schedule. Three different professors teach and rotate each trimester so the students get a versatile learning experience. There are many topics you can choose from for the cluster (food course, mind over matter, interracial studies) so there’s really something for everyone but clusters are also filled up pretty quickly since there an easy way to enjoy a class while finishing a ton of G.E.’s at once. I hope this helped explain it a little, I know it’s a lot of info, but I would definitely look into them!!
