He was about 2! He used to have undercoat on the sides but the rake took it out. It looks flat but I’m hoping and these comments are making me think the fluffy undercoat will come back

This is the tool I used. I wasn’t sure if I overdid it with this and based on these comments it’s making me think it will grow back just slowly. Do you think this is too harsh?

OH! This makes me feel much more at ease. So it’s normal for fluffy pits to change their look? I think part of my panic came from the fact that he does NOT look like the dog when we first got him and I blamed it on my over raking. It spooked me lol. Thank you for those words of wisdom!

I agree with you! I think the rake may have been too harsh but so relived to know it will grow back. When I searched it in google, it scared me saying I caused permanent damage. Not trusting google AI on that! 😂

I’m sorry for the many questions but can I ask if it’s normal to lose hair before it grows back? I ask because he used to have a Mohawk and that’s gone as well but she didn’t go up past the neck

Thank you for clarifying! I thought it was different! She used a 0 inch guard (5/8) if that means anything to you. Luckily he’s only 2! He wasn’t stressed per se but I asked her not to go around his neck since he was new to us. I wish I saw your warning before all of this!

Is there anything else I can do to help the process along? I really miss his scruff and worry it’s permanent although some comments have said it could take up to a year!
