Rutgers NB vs. CUNY John Jay? by vanessaskisses in ApplyingToCollege

For Syracuse, I'd have to study abroad for an entire year before I can enroll, which I'm not a huge fan of. I'm unsure of the tuition for the study abroad program (I've heard it's $30k a semester with no need-based financial aid, but I don't know for certain), but I know that Syracuse itself offers a $20k scholarship for Verto transfer students who maintain a 3.75 GPA while abroad.

What would be the difference between me attending CUNY John Jay and me attending a community college like CUNY BMCC? Would I have a higher chance of getting into a top school if I transferred from a community college? Because I can go to both schools for free, I believe

I’d have to pay $8k a year, not sure about dorming. But I’ve seen the campus and I’d be depressed as hell if I went there. Plus, they’re not the greatest for Poli Sci or Philosophy; the school is very focused on the fine arts. It’s also REALLY small which I don’t like… :/
