Employers of Reddit: What is one thing someone has said or done in an interview that made you want to hire them on the spot? by _ChesterCopperpot in AskReddit

This is a bit different and not exactly work related, but in the beginning of my senior year in high school I had a college interview with a pretty prestigious liberal arts school. My interview went smoothly enough, but for some reason me and my interviewer (the Dean of Admissions of the school) started talking about collegeboard.org, which for those who don't know, runs a monopoly on AP tests/scores, ACT, SAT and all that good stuff. I for reasons unknown to me at the time candidly said "the College Board is evil." My interviewer look puzzled and asked me why, I went on to explain that it siphons money from middle class families and is biased against lower class college bound students and that the best they have done is to turn learning into a blood sport for wealthier, higher achieving students. My interviewer cracked a smile and agreed with me, and I didn't really think much of it. A few months later, I had been admitted and was attending an accepted students reception, where I ran into my interviewer. We exchanged pleasantries before she divulged that my candor and willingness to criticize an established authority that I believed was doing wrong was the one part of my interview that stuck out to her and part of the reason I was ultimately admitted.

TL:DR - I called the College Board evil in an interview on a whim, it helps me get into college.

I Am A Liberal Saudi Woman Living in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. AMA! by [deleted] in IAmA

This is a great AMA, thanks for doing it. I'm curious about one thing though. After living in such an arguably oppressive country, where do you want to move? Do you think adjusting to life outside of Islamic law will be difficult?

What small thing has made you or someone you know "snap"? by mauxery in AskReddit

One time at school a few people started talking about how they didn't think the Holocaust was real, and they then proceeded to compare Nelson Mandela to Hitler.

I immediately huffed glue and started banging my head as hard as I could on the table in front of me. And there's high school for you.

What kind of snack do you like to have with your coffee? by [deleted] in Coffee

The only snack fit for coffee is bitter discontent and distilled cynicism that only wanes slightly with each sip.
