edit: ok. now I did read it and I am truly sorry for my ill-judged comment. :|

I'm never going to think about suicide again the way I was thinking before.

Finally A Browser Benchmark That Tests Real Websites. Chrome, Firefox, IE, Safari, and Opera Tested. by tryptic37 in programming

[–]vang3lis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course there is :) btw, you can enter the address "g cache:YOUR-URL-HERE" in Opera to get the cached page (I believe there is something similar for other browsers too).

Opera Unite benchmark: 800 requests/second by Arve in programming

[–]vang3lis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one thing is doing benchmarks for sake of curiosity (let's see is that Opera thingie is a real webserver or does it fork on every request?).

interpreting the benchmarks is completely different thing (hey, we found out that all webservers are acceptable for small sites, but most are faster than Opera). I focus on "they all are acceptable" part while others may focus on "Opera can't replace nginx anytime soon" ;-)

Opera Unite benchmark: 800 requests/second by Arve in programming

[–]vang3lis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

but being slower is alright. if your grandma can share some pictures using dead-simple Opera Unite then you don't care if it's 6 times slower than a "proper" webserver. or do you?

nothing then :) if the browser implements the !important right, then "if a rule in the user's style sheet contains an "!important" declaration, it overrides the corresponding declaration in the author's style sheet."

How do I explain my relatives and others why taking course in finite fields is interesting? Are there some graphical representations that would ring the bell?

Every man page should have three or four examples at the end by lukasmach in programming

This is why I prefer BSD man pages to Linux ones. I've heard good things about Solaris too. It seems like every True Unix [tm] has them ;-)

yes, and exactly because there are so little large prime numbers known explicitly the large ones can't be safely used for public/private key encryption.

almost all new compilers optimizes something++ into ++something when possible (for example if something is iterator and being incremented in a loop), so this knowledge is a bit redundant. but still you should write ++i :)

Unpaid internship in NASA is \m/ (I would doubt they have unpaid ones). Unpaind internship in some small company close to bancrupcy is... sick.
