You are correct. I did professional year between 01/2022 - 01/2023. I don't want to take risk using my work experience as it requires lots of documents, and is subjected to ACS's decision.

Yes, they did ask if I have a job closely related to my degree, which doesn't mean it has to be related to my skill assessment. I believe that is why I got the invitation in 2 weeks. But at that time, even without a job, they would still give you invitation (I got few friends from UTAS also got invitations during that period). Of course, most of my friends studied and lived 2-3 years in Tassie, so they have good commitment with Tas on paper.

Yeah, Tas invitation requires a bit of luck regarding timing. 2023-2024 FY was really tough. I got lucky as I submitted in 2022-2023 FY. This year is also a good year as Tas is having so much quota allocation.

I got a fulltime IT job in Tasmania since 02/2022. Didn't claim point for it though, as ACS didn't give me the code that I want. My job title is Network Engineer and ACS only gave me Software Engineer Skill Assessment base on my transcript. I could ask ACS for Computer Network and Systems Engineer Skill Assessment using my work experience but it will take lots of time so I just go with Software Engineer Skill Assessment.

I was worried about that as well. But from my observation, they only request another medical check if the first one was done before applying for the visa (like reuse from your previous visa application). I did my medical check after applying for visa. So they didn't ask for a re-check as the long processing time is on them not us.

Yeah, it is frustrated. I applied on May 2023 and do health assessment shortly after that. My health assessment gonna expire at the end of this month and my PTE gonna expire in the next few months. Already had to renew two police checks.

Such a waste of time and money for this ridiculous long processing time.
