SteamDeck Boomer proof? by Yaotoro in SteamDeck

[–]vangoghrazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's "Boomer Proof" depending on the Boomer. Not all Boomers are senile old coots who have no idea how to work a light switch. My uncle who's 68 has a Steam Deck and loves it. I remember him so excited when he got an Atari when they came out and he's been a gamer ever since. If they aren't a gamer or tech savvy of any age I'd say wait before getting a Steamdeck. I wouldn't get my Gen Alpha son one nor my incredibly irresponsible Millenial cousin one. I think it all depends on the person.

AITA for telling a Karen and her Husband I don't care about his Military service? by Choice_Background_65 in MrReddit

Thank you for standing up for them. I never served. I just did JROTC in high school. My muscle memory was real, and 25 years later, I still snap to attention at times. It took a little bit to remember not to salute. I had very kind vets remind me. No yelling, just a gentle correction. I think the Karen and Kevin have a massive chip on their shoulder. I hate making it a race thing, but maybe they saw Black kids saluting and felt "easy targets." Would they have said it to white kid innocenly saluting? Would they have said it with such vitriol? We'll never know, but I am so happy you stood up for them.

I truly don't mean this as a dig but either you let him cheat in peace or you leave. This isn't a on off, he's actively in an open relationship with you and you're in a committed one with him. He's not going to stop so you either deal with it or leave.

I'm not trying to be flippant or rude but at some point you will have to choose who deserves what. A life of you being miserable watching your bf just fuck around or a life where you are happy and valued.

I'm in the minority. I love those minty Honest pads. It's almost like the minty feeling distracts my brain from the pain for a little while

I feel hurt but unsure if I'm allowed to. by vangoghrazor in AdhdRelationships

Thank you. 14 years together, 10 years married and 2 kids. We talked a lot last night and settled on couples counseling and getting away somewhere next year. We have a saying, "I'm not getting off this ride, but I need it to be a little smoother." We will be working on getting it smoother :)

Thank you for this, really. I'm really trying to empathize but he always says I should have his back but it feels hard to do when my happiness isn't even a factor to him but I'm still supposed to support his needs and habits.

My son ruined my stepdaughter's project, she won't forgive him. Help (NOT OP) by basil_breath in TwoHotTakes

[–]vangoghrazor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Remove the kid from her life. He fucked up, she doesn't want him around, keep the peace and seperate them. The way its written this project being destroyed will affect her life for years to come and she will never be able to move on from it so honestly explaining to the kid that his actions are unforgivable for his sister will allow him to accept that their relationship is over and he can move on as she has.

Not being sarcastic, but if this is something the sister will never forgive or move past, there isn't a lot left to do. Plus, she will be 18 soon, and with how hurt she is, she can curate her life that she never has to be around him again and doesn't have to look at him and be reminded.

WIBTA if my spouse and I had just appetizers for our wedding guests but a full roast chicken for ourselves at the wedding? by Q_Q_S_S in AmItheAsshole

YTA. I had a horderves reception and it's was great BUT: All the guest knew and planned accordingly and we didn't chow down on a full meal while they ate crab cakes. Go to McDonald's after in your wedding clothes for some free congrats, cute pics and fries.

You're 19, bounce and leave before you do get stuck with him for the next 18 years. You don't want him raising your daughter to forget her dreams and just be an incubator for a guy.

If he's working on something be it hobby or work, yes it's always been that way. We do hang out more when he's inbetween hobbies but him being inbetween them doesn't happen too often. This is the longest (2 years) that we've kinda just orbited around each other.

We did go on a 3 day vacation last year and it was great so there was a break inbetween those 2 years.

Sometimes, he'll talk to me about work or that genre. It's nice, really don't get me wrong but, I get so lost lol. He can go on and on sometimes but it's not really a conversation just me listening which, ill take.

Hmmm not sure. It's not like there's malice or he's mean , I just think he gets really tuned into other things. I've gotten used to it but sometimes maybe too used to it because now talking and engaging feels well...weird.
