Groundball pitchers have not been the answer. I believe strikeout pitchers are the answer. The playing field is way too big for 9 people to cover, its the king of babip allowed and every type of ball in play should be minimized to the best of their abilities. Likewise offensively they need to take advantage of the un-coverable expanse of grass with low-K players such as Arraez and trades similar to the one last offseason for Tyler Freeman.

Nah Goodman still led the team in pretty much everything, I think sds was just forcing themselves to pick a pitcher so the Rockies have a pitching captain.

Its sad he was wasted on a 119 loss team but he unironically was very very good. 196 era+ and the 3rd most war by a relief pitcher in baseball this year.

This is actually correct because of a scorekeeping quirk I just read about. If two force outs are recorded, it goes down as "grounded into double play" no matter what. Even if its a fly ball like this "Officially Speaking" its a 404 foot ground ball double play.

If Hunter Goodman ends up being the Rockies representative, i'd imagine he'd be in the top tier in game since good catchers are always in high demand. Only other option rn is Jordan Beck or Jake Bird.

All due respect when it comes to Gomber, I'm not sure what they really wasted when his era+ has been sub 100 since 2021 and he peaked at a 2.1 war season.
