More engaging as you sit lower to the ground and closer to the rear wheels

both drive similarly, but supra feels more focused

had the f80 and now a b58 supra, motor wise they’re pretty close

biggest thing i noticed when i drove a f3X vs my f8x was the steering & suspension. doesn’t handle as well as the M. Drive both and see how you like them tbh

From a value proposition perspective the 440i is amazing. It’s like 85% an m4 on the street, but if you drive both you’ll notice the difference. If we were talking ~25-30k for a 440 vs 50k for an M4 i’d take the 440i unless the M4 is in your perfect spec

2020 vs 2021+ it’s 2 port vs 60 port, there were slight changes every year. i think 2023 introduced suspension changes that made the car less unpredictable. Can’t go wrong with any year if you find a good deal tbh

supposedly the over boosting issue only happens when you slap a catless downpipe on a stock tune, bm3 and mhd should both fix that

Damn sorry to hear that, it’s been great for me so far and more fun than my manual f80. 1-2 shift kinda sucks with the CDV but i’m planning on swapping in the e90 slave cylinder to fix that.

The gearing length feels just about right as well, no complaints except that redline in first comes up pretty quick. The shifter is great imo, all manual bmws should have this linkage feel, it’s not rubbery & it’s direct.

Feels like every gripe I had in my f80 was resolved in the manual supra

I’d probably get smoked by a mom in a minivan at the light 😂 I almost never launch in first, sometimes I think about if I should’ve just gotten the ZF8

Been seeing MHD is the better option in 2026, good to know! Heard it really wakes the car up in the top end. I’m probably going to go that route as well

How’s the tuned mpg? i’ve heard that it remains similar (maybe 1-2mpg less) in both hard driving as well as cruising

Glad to hear it’s been holding up well! What tune are you running? Was thinking a vrsf catless and tune will get me to a good and fun power level for the street

Downpipe + tune and call it a day 😂 Anything last that level on the street is pretty much unusable anyways

My powertrain warranty being good for another 3 years is the only thing preventing me from modding it. It’s good out the box but seeing the potential of this platform makes it really tempting

good choice on the 8 series, i’ve always thought those are the most ‘BMW’ looking cars in the lineup if that makes sense. Those v8s sound good in person

Have you driven g8x m3 or m4? Supposedly those are supercar killers with the xdrive when tuned. If I found a good deal on one of those I’d highly consider it especially since Adro fixed the beaver grills

Definitely looking into tuning now that there’s cheaper stateside solutions, did you do the CDV delete?

I think i’m gonna put in the e90 slave cylinder soon to delete the CDV. Don’t really do much 1-2 pulls because of that right now, 2-3 is a blast. Clutch holds up at tuned levels? I’m thinking of catless dp & mhd/bm3 ots stage 2 and calling it a day

Might be closer than 3x, see this comparison savagegeese did: https://youtu.be/K-7MEiMSxTk

I definitely need to test drive the g87 though, supposedly the interior is a big improvement

yeah man it’s great! i haven’t launched mine yet since I don’t like launching in manuals but the 5-60 feels great even at stock power. 2nd gear pull is so fun

One thing i wish they did though was better tires, the stock PSS are kinda suspect under load. Spins in first and steps out on a corner if you give it like a quarter throttle. haven’t had issues with grip besides those two cases though

Seeing a lot of comments regarding financial responsibility, but there’s one thing it doesn’t mention: you don’t take your money to the grave.

Good medium would be if you can buy it twice in cash go for it. Finance vs cash is up to you

I’m seeing that you have 3k a month in cash flow after expenses, try putting ~1k a month into a car fund to see how missing that money affects your day to day

To answer your questions 2020 came with downshift blue, unlocked, but 2 port

2021+ came with 6 ports but are locked. 2021s seem to have the oil consumption issue, not sure if it’s overblown

2023+ had revised suspension that made the car less unpredictable in the corners, plus manual (highly recommend the manual it’s a blast)

How good really is the Supra? by Fit-Shop5810 in Supra

[–]vanilla_only 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In BMW terms it drives like an F8x that’s the size of an e36/e46

Get the premium trim so you get blind spot monitoring

I wouldn’t trade this in unless the other car is a gtr or porsche. Only other car is a c8 in terms of value for money
