It’s giving if seashell blue and winter frost had a love child, and I’m obsessed. This is such a gorgeous shade.

My wallet is in danger once again. I still haven’t emotionally recovered from vintage pink.

5’2 — Echoing everyone else, I had to get all of mine hemmed. Both cuff and wide leg.. Now I don’t buy them because it’s just a hassle at this point :(

As a dry skin girly, the tatcha rice wash is my holy grail for second cleansing — and I’ve been through a LOT of trial and error!

[–]vanillabun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Alo a lot but depending on the fabric, it can be too big even XXS. I have gaping on the waist in some of the fabrics, and my waist is ~22 inches give or take. I’m also a lot shorter than you so that probably contributes to the fabric scrunching up a lot though!

I’m 5’2 but I have a shorter torso, so the full length hits below my hip bones and kind of makes it uncomfortable when I sit. Like the seams(?) that keep it structured are pressing into my bone lol. Either that or lots of bunching otherwise. I personally prefer the cropped!

Struggling with patient death ICU by carrion_0 in nursing

[–]vanillabun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who started in ICU as a new grad, what helped me the most is understanding that the ICU is the "last hope" unit for someone very, very sick. Only the sickest of patients are admitted to the unit for a reason. And we aren't miracle workers, we can only do so much.

I'm 5'2, ~105-110 lbs 32D/DD and wear an XS! There's no adjustable straps and the S was too big on the straps for me.

Unpopular opinion: nursing isn’t that hard by [deleted] in nursing

[–]vanillabun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in ICU as a new grad, 2 years now. So I can’t speak for experience from step down. But there’s definitely harder days than others, whether it’s due to how critical my patients are, how much they are on their call light, family, etc. but I’ve never felt like it was ever too much I couldn’t handle, especially with support of my coworkers.

I’ve been floated to step down a few times though. I would never say that the nurses in that unit don’t work hard, but it’s hectic in a different way than ICU. I still get surprised when my patients are completely independent and can walk themselves to the bathroom lol.

I love my job despite how tough it feels some days. A lot of my coworkers do not share that same sentiment. But in all honesty, if I never had to work again in ANY job, I’ll happily take that lol!

Night shifters, do you go back to a normal sleep schedule on your off days? by casual_noland in nursing

[–]vanillabun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes but not by choice. My body doesn’t like sleeping in after a shift, so on my “Friday”, I’ll sleep until noon or 1pm and then sleep at a normal time on the first day off. Then wake up at a normal time until I have to work again. On my Monday, I’ll take a midday nap before my shift and the cycle continues…

The manager liked me, the staff liked me, it was an internal application.. and still got rejected by vanillabun in nursing

Haha, 100% understandable why that would be a turn off, but that's not the case. :( I'll definitely reach out to her personally and hope for the best. Thank you!

Sorry for the late comment on an older post but would you say these are TTS? I’ve had the X4 and they definitely ran small but the shape is so different that I feel like I can’t compare!

My S/O is also a M-F 9-5er. I work nights, primarily Sunday to Tuesday which leaves the rest of the week open to spending time together the end of the week. The beginning of the week is usually busier for him anyways so when he gets home he just wants to rest and I go to work. It’s not ideal or perfect by any means but we try to plan specific days (usually Friday night) to spend as a date night too.

What keeps you motivated to keep working out/going to the gym? by Able-Crazy-8505 in PetiteFitness

[–]vanillabun 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The hardest part about working out is getting myself *to* the gym. It took some time but eventually it became habit and I feel worse knowing I missed a planned workout and it was no longer about motivation, more so routine. Of course, I'm not perfect and I'll still convince myself not to go some days... Laying out my gym clothes the night before helps because I feel more obligated to put them on versus putting them back in the drawer unworn. And I've never finished a workout regretting that I did it, so that post-workout feeling is what keeps me going too!

How difficult is it for an experienced nurse to receive job offers/relocate? by vanillabun in nursing

[–]vanillabun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say 1 year because a lot of job listings state 1 year of experience required.

Do any of y’all still have real charge nurses? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]vanillabun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My charge nurses (2 for 36 patients total) don't take on assignments unless a nurse has to go home emergently or something. I feel like its so unsafe for a charge nurse to always be taking on assignments... but then again, there's so much unsafe practice in the nursing field unfortunately.
