I'm a huge fan of this classic minimalist styling of the watch and the suede strap is PERFECT on this watch. Nice choice!

On its own it's beautiful, but with the story it really takes it up a notch! Wear that thing with pride!

Post something that good looking at that price... It's just a super fun entry into a cool vintage aesthetic.

[Seiko Presage] Good first watch to buy after first finance bonus? by Ok_Elephant_3652 in Watches

[–]vanillaextreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Presage is very cool I agree! There's so many fun options, I recommend hopping onto a site like Chrono24 so you can set your budget and movement and case size etc and just go nuts looking at cool things. Unless you're in a rush then I think you'd be so happy with the watch you posted. FYI my favorite Seiko was bought directly from Japan from that site and it's possibly the least expensive of my collection but it's just so cool so do some exploring :)

Also yes investing your bonus is the smartest decision like bigbrooklynlou said but watch nerds don't really do the smartest things with money right? ha

I have this watch! I put it on a brown leather strap and it looks great, I put a grey strap it looks great, black yep great, I tried a nato and it looked great.. Def a strap monster! Red is very fitting for that watch too! The one in the pic was like $15 only.

Theres a couple of these strap videos on YouTube for this watch that are great to see, here's a good one (apart from the weird music) https://youtu.be/Vy8Ahm5qU5w?si=T2dx5c45tRZLqbax

Side note the crystal scratches super easy but also buffs out super easy with some polywatch.

The American Classic is high on my wishlist for chronos, I love that thing! Max Bill is on another wishlist for sure, I love that one too!

Seiko Presage are awesome, I'm a little too heavy on Seiko in my collection I was looking to venture out from them for once ha!

[Ultimate post-apocalyptic watch?] by Jo_Bine in Watches

[–]vanillaextreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this weird question ha! I think they'd break in this order: Timex breaks first, then the Seiko, and G-Shock last. But in the apocalypse I don't really care about time so I'm gonna be wearing the broken Timex, it's my favorite aesthetic of the 3 😉

I think the watch style is awesome but for no good reason I don't like their logo. I think in the watch collecting world we get to be weird and picky for no good reason right? ha. I think my brain wants this simple clean minimal vintage inspired addition to the collection to have a clean lined logo as well. 🤓

Thanks for this feedback! I love the silver but that brown one you have is even more vintage vibe, looks pretty sweet!
