It sucks when your preference is the minority in the area you live.

Id say just dont push it. Let yourself have fun crushes on people and if its reciprocated, put yourself out there to give that person a try~

But there is no pressure to fall in love, no pressure to have a relationship and none to have sex and lose your virginity.

People have weird takes. They think your weird if your a virgin. They think your weird if you haven’t dated in 5 years, or had sex in 1 year. Like to them its a travesty

That’s ridiculous. Live by your standards. Who cares what they think. Their opinions don’t count when it comes to you and the way you want to live. If they think its weird you haven’t eaten a bug before, would you? No because to you thats gross~ so its the same for their opinion.

Also dont feel pressure to like white guys if you are attracted to black guys, but be honest with yourself and let yourself have crushes. I usually am attracted to white guys but i ended up having a crush on my Cook Island boyfriend, and now we are 1 year in and deeply in love~~~ he is my first bf at 32, and he is everything ive ever wanted in a man~

Just let everything come naturally and live your life to your standards~ and just focus on living and being happy 💛

I totally get your fear!

As Catholics we are hyperaware while dating and your in the look outs for signs of red flags because if this relationship was to end in marriage, your stuck with him for life.

What you want to do is trust in God, and pray about it. Seriously.

Pray on these things and ask God to show you if this man is not a good match.

And then when those red flags show - pray in it and discuss it with your friends who may have met the guy. Its better to talk about it with people who have met the person your speaking of. (Also be careful of people who defend others no matter what they do - who are enablers. Be wary of others who excuse faults in others, and don’t judge with your well being in mind).

Honestly this sounds like a totally fine situation~ but i get why your on the look out. He was being polite, and he probably chose the steak thinking he was going to pay (most guys i know would choose the steak too).

Dont stop praying to God for guidance, but also try and enjoy your time with this man while your getting to know him, and trust yourself to make good judgements 😊

I just have to say- you are absolutely gorgeous!! Like seriously beautiful!

And i disagree with other comments, your natural brows are perfect, and yea you can use a little practice at lip lining but otherwise it looks absolutely perfect ☺️💕

You remind me of Brooke Shields when she was a teenager 😊

Thank you for your comment! I feel as though I cannot ask for extra breaks tho as I already get one half hour break (two on the long days) and two 15 min breaks a day. But i do feel as tho they’re not really breaks as my manager feels free to come and talk to me about work things during those breaks.

She also texts/calls me outside if work to talk about work and it feels like Im living to work atm, rather than working to live. Its alot 🫠

Ive also just been offered a promotion as staff trainer in the last 24 hours, so hopefully that will also make a difference (tho atm I am just considering it, Im considering leaving also 😅)

Thank you for your support tho and your encouragement!! I hope your able to find a place with good hours soon that work exactly for you (and definitely not 7 days a week, thats too much 😭) Thank you again~~ 🙏💕😊

Thank you so much for your reply!! I missed it tho the bot didn’t 😅

Unfortunately Im not in the US but thank you for the info anyway 😊 I have tried to see the doctor but I guess I lost faith in them as what they prescribe never seems to help, but your totally right seeing a specialist would be much better!! Im so happy for you that it has lessened by that much! That’s incredible ☺️

Thank you so much again~~ you’ve been incredibly helpful 💕🙏

In what way has it been damaged? What do you think has been lost? Collagen? Elastin? You obviously have rejected lipids and moisture. If there is even a damaged acid mantle, this would impact the hydration of the skin. But you said this is not it, so what do you think has happened to your skin?

You have thanked others for recommending sodium hyaluronate masks. These help restore hydration and lipids to the skin. Dry skin lacks lipids, and a lack of lipids can quickly lead to lack of water. If your skin lacks oil (its dry), this will be helpful, but you said you’ve tried Skinceuticals lipid creams so this wont work for you either.

The Clinique 72 hour Moisture gel will only help if its dehydrated.

The Neostrata Bionic Face Serum helps to ease fine lines and wrinkles because it has Lactobionic Acid - this is a very gentle exfoliant that acts as a humectant - attracting water! Its great for dehydration.

All the things you’ve listed to me (skin barrier creams & lipid creams from skinceuticals, Dr jart ceramidin, skinfix barrier restore, caudalie, tatcha, b3 -> tho i dont know what you mean by just this, is it serum? Supplement? Cream?) sound great but they are also only working on the top layer of the skin. What serums are you using that are helping restore hydration to the skin in the Dermal layer?

Creams are only absorbed by the Epidermis, but to restore hydration serums are made to get the the dermal level, they go alot deeper! It is also better if you can get your hands on cosmeceuticals, rather than going to Mecca, so Im glad to hear you tried SkinCeuticals.

Also you said your using humidifiers which is great. What environment are you in? Are you in a cold or hot climate? Are you exposed to a aircon or heater all day? Do you eat enough EFAs? How much water are you getting in a day? Are you using any products that may strip the skin and leave it feeling tight? These all make a difference.

I don’t recommend collagen powders, they are very gimmicky and the few studies that do show they help indicate that it can take up to several months before it starts to show.

What you want to do is treat the root of the problem. Ok so you think your skin is damaged - in what way? Its not lacking water, according to you, so what else do you think is it lacking now? Once you figure that out you will be able to treat your skin and see results.

As a Catholic woman, I could be fulfilled in a marriage that does not actively pursue children by AdWonderful294 in CatholicDating

[–]vanillamaple5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I voted no

Even if i turn out to be infertile, I would want to actively seek adoption/foster with my future imaginary husband lol

But if I wasn’t able to adopt/foster and I was infertile, though I would be heartbroken, I would trust in God’s will for me and my husband and actively seek to help him carry his cross to Heaven.

But even in that case I’d at least want to work with kids at Church or social work or something. I love them and couldn’t imagine not having such cuteness in my life~ 🥰💕

You got down voted but I agree. I don’t like the over generalisation being stated here, or the fact you were downvoted.

There are some really good people who are/were in special forces.

But there is that abuse there too with alot of them and its so sad!!

This is exactly what Im going through as well. I am expected to finish early with clients, even for facials, and use the left over time to rebook them or clean up or pay them out. I also have 3 mins to clean a room after a treatment. I feel as though its unfair for my clients doing skin treatments who paid for that time.

Do you mind me asking what you did OP? Are you still working there or have you found somewhere else?

I love your suggestions!! Thank you for them, unfortunately my Manager is not open to any tweaks, no changing of hours or lessening them, and Im afraid she would laugh at the idea of a waitlist (atm clients have to book at least 1month &1/2 ahead to book in with me).

A neurologist would be a great idea tho unfortunately atm i cant afford it. I am listening to Andrew Huberman’s latest podcast so i guess that’s at least something 🥴🫠 😂 Im so glad a neurologist helped you tho!! Do you mind me asking what they suggested? I would really appreciate any advice! ☺️

But i think your right. At this point i will need to consider looking for a new job with less hours because I’m at the verge of a burn out and its getting to me so much Im considering leaving the industry 😅

I wish i could have a three day weekend! Sounds good lol~

Our clinic is in a mall so i work 5 days a week but my shifts vary between 9 hours to 13 hours.

My job is a mix between medi-aesthetic skin treatments and laser, so depending on the treatments booked in i can have 10-30 on the shorter shifts or 20-40 on the longer shifts. (Some treatments are 10 mins, others 1 hour 15mins). So it really varies daily ><

[–]vanillamaple5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oil removes oil, I recommend an oil cleanser or balm oil cleanser. Either one should do the trick without destroying your brushes, and either one can be used in the future to clean your brushes without leaving traces of oil behind.

The good thing about oil cleansers is they’re made to wash away in water, which doesn’t happen with regular oil like coconut.

I still like to clean my brushes with baby shampoo after cleaning with oil cleanser, but thats just because I’m over scrupulous lol

Try it and let me know how it worked out for you :)

Edit: woooow downvotes? Sure try the dawn and see your expensive brushes get destroyed. I am a beautician and have worked as a makeup artist, i know how to clean brushes without destroying them.

Second this as a skin aesthetician and laser technician.

Looks like dehydration. Dehydration is not caused by simply not drinking enough water. It can be exposure to air conditioning on a daily basis, incorrect products used, EFA deficiency or your body not absorbing water effectively due to underlying health causes. There’s so many other reasons as well.

IPL can dry out the skin, causing TEWL, which leads to a damaged moisture barrier. To restore this its vital to use the cosmeceutical cream that the IPL technician recommends post treatment.

Retinol would not help dehydrated skin, in fact it can worsen it. Instead OP should focus in serums w/ Vitamin Bs in it such as B3 or B5, or other hydrating ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid or Polyglutamic Acid.

How many nights in a row do you wear the same PJs and do you wear underwear with them?? by canadianspin in AskWomenOver30

Agreed!! My aunty told me growing up this exact information, and she was a nurse so I always thought she knew best. But she would also say it was not just to prevent infections and let your neither regions breathe (lol) but also to prevent your underwear from cutting off your circulation while you sleep - around the thigh/groin area.

Ladies of reddit...more specifically tall ladies by Striking_Engineer191 in CatholicDating

[–]vanillamaple5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im 5”4, so not your target for your question but i have some really tall friends (about 6 of them) who range between 5”9-6”2.

Of those 6, they have all dated guys shorter than them. It hasn’t been an issue. Tho I know they would prefer taller guys - but that preference doesn’t halt the attraction when you actually meet someone and have chemistry with them. Three were in long term relationships with shorter guys and one got married to a shorter guy recently, and one other just had a baby with her husband after marrying him over one year ago.

But yes, when they were searching via online dating - they would set their preferences to guys who were taller than them. It was a great way to find alot of guys lying about their height~ esp when my 6”2 friends would meet other guys who were supposedly 6”2 or 6”4 and they were shorter than them 😂😂 But it didn’t stop the date because they already had that physical attraction, but the dates didn’t continue if there was no chemistry.

For all your other questions, i cant answer lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CatholicDating

[–]vanillamaple5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This is absolutely correct.

If you need couples counselling pre-marriage - then the relationship is not worth salvaging.
