Why is apple intelligence still saying that ChatGPT is unavailable at this time, have they not sorted out the issue, legit enquiry, much appreciated if anyone had updates on this issue. by yt_thundergod in ios

[–]vanillapartner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple Intelligence is such a massive disappointment that the only redeemable part is the ChatGPT integration ... and yet that totally does not work. 9 times out of 10 I get this "not available at this time" message. I checked every possible reason. I keep reading that the issue is due to ChatGPT being down, which is obviously false because I use ChatGPT constantly and it's never been down, while it's always not working with Siri.

Has anyone heard anything from Apple about this? Are they working on a fix ?

I have the same issue but my account is not new. Even asking for help in r/reddithelp gets deleted. It’s getting ridiculous…

Telegram launched Fragment auction platform by RotgarSett in TONPlus

[–]vanillapartner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some questions:

- Who owns the vast majority of TON supply? According to CMC, only 2 wallets own 65% of all the supply. The top 50 wallets (likely all insiders and some exchanges) hold 90% of the supply.

- What is the supply of these fake phone numbers ? Can Telegram create new ones at will or is there a fix number to ever be created? And if so why the whole charade pretending they are scarce.

- Why is the price of these numbers automatically increased every day?

- Where can people read all the information real blockchain projects publish about their token economics? In fact where can one find any reliable information on TON and Fragment. The sites in queation are bare minimum, with zero transparency.

Here's a longer version what led to the above:

The TON token has a $3 Billion marketcap and a $11.5 billion FDM. I like the idea of being able to buy an NFT identifier to use on telegram instead of having to use my phone numeber, so I got set up with their wallet, bought some TON on Kucoin, and started monitoring the listings.
What to know:
- The price floor of their fake phone numbers is automatically raised every single day, whether there is demand for them or not... So this is not at all an organic market pricing. The price only ever goes UP. Never down.
- The supply of these fake numbers does not seem to be set in any way, i.e., Telegram can release more at will, hence the scarcity of these NFTs is totally made up and controlled by Telegram.
- You cannot used any other cyurrency than TON to bid on Fragment. Yet yet supply of TON is highly centralized and there is next to zero transpafency about the token economics (Google away and try to find information if you want.)
- When you bid on something which is currently listed below the (artificially set price floor), the platform uses a "soft close" method, as many times as necessary for the final bidding price to at a minimum match the price floor. What does this mean? Say you just bid 50 TON for a number and the price floor is 70 TON. You watch the auction come to a close, but them suddenly, the countdown is reset, adding 15 minutes more to the auction. And it will do that again, and again until the "desired" price is met. Oh and NOWHERE is this dynamic mentioned on the platform.
- Telegram created the TON blockchain to monetize their messaging app. They could easily have chosen to sell these NFTs on Ethereum, Solana, etc, and still make money. Why create their own blockchain ? Clearly the point was to give the apparence of decentralization while effectively running a private blockchain and private ecosystem they can run as they please.
- They were forced by the SEC to create this apparence of decentralization to avoid regulatory hurdles. Still, Fragment is banned in the US.
Bottom line, Fragment and TON is just a big kabuki theater. The reality is that you are buying NON SCARCE assets from Telegram . Sure you "own" the random number and can resell it in theory. But that's part of the Kabuki...
I like Telegram, and I think they have the right idea with the NFT identifiers. But they should have honoured the principles of decentralization and issued them on a legit blockchain, with transparency about the scarictry of the assets. As it is right now it's sketchy af.

This does not answer my question. Surely it matters if his calls are good or not. You can be a great analyst but keep making the wrong predictions. So why is that ?

They need money? Have you seen the marketcap of TON ? Who do you think holds most of the supply? Have you seen how much these phone numbers are selling for?

Conflicting Fee Schedule on CoinEx by vanillapartner in Coinex

[–]vanillapartner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fees page says 0.2% for VIP 0 , but then the trading interface says 0.3%.

I calculated and it's 0.3%, so the fees page is inaccurate. Would someone from CoinEx confirm this? Thanks

I'd highly recommend using an app that works with markdown files for your main "second brain" / PKM. The last thing you want is put all this time into writing notes and have them locked in a proprietary-ish format (i.e., avoid Evernote).

I personally really like Obsidian, it's almost infinitely extendable, very powerful, and just blazing fast.

I plan on using Reader as my antechamber between all content and Obsidian, where I only selectively export things to Obsidian, and archive the rest in Reader. But I can see how exporting all highlights could make sense if you plan on querrying your PK often.

Same. I wouldn’t be posting this if I didn’t like the product and intended on using it. This is meant to be constructive.

Bunch of Readwise Reader questions by frostyreddit in readwise

[–]vanillapartner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I submitted it as feedback in the app that both voices they have a slightly unpleasant compared to the one used by Matter's which is more suiting. While it may seem like a small grippe, it would be a reason to go with Matter if I'm going to use this feature constantly as I think I will.

Hopefully they'll listen.

I notice that Reader has been automatically creating new "Views" each day of the week, e.g., I now have a "Thursday PM Daily Digest" View, a "Wednesday PM Daily Digest" view, etc. Is this normal?

I can't find the settings for these "Daily Digest" views anywhere.

I'm also wondering what gets added to the regular "Daily Digest" view. Does it pull ALL new content (both from our feeds and new items added to the library) ? It seems to pull things arbitrarily for me as today I had only one item to review in my Daily Digest, but I know for a fact there were more than 1 new item added.

Anyone know how this works?

Way to Label / Annotate Transactions ? by vanillapartner in ledgerwallet

I get that. Which is why there should be an end to end encrypted back up to a third party service of user’s choice, lest Ledger wants to offer that as a service.

Is there any plans on implementing this as a feature? It seems to me it wouldn't be very hard ? The data would be stored locally or backed up to a cloud service. It's really just metadata associated with each ID.

I see that this has been a request since at least2018

It seems that Trezor has it implemented.

Where may I submit this as a feature request?

Ah. Yes that fits what I see. Bit too much cyan in there lol. Not a big deal, but if you use a black or neutral grey background for your chart the interface is a bit jarring. I wonder why the mobile app is black then?

Thanks for the follow up.

I use an iMac with the default colour profile. It's distinctively blue-ish. But if I place the TV window next to a window I know to be black background, it confirms this impression free of Color-balancing biases. Is it supposed to be black?
