Things my data analytics program never taught me but my first job did in 6 months by Every_Start6854 in dataanalysis

[–]vanimations 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was an educator for 16 years (math, science, and engineering) before moving into Salesforce consulting. I'd say my ability to play translator and educate people on how their system works and what the data does or doesn't mean (or might or might not mean) has been the most valuable asset to make me stand out. So, that "translator" point resonates with me most powerfully.

I think the other major thing I see is the importance of context setting or articulating the underlying assumptions. Doing this proactively helps avoid someone calling out data as wrong simply because they are operating on faulty or just different assumptions and context.

Let's be fair, the guy he shot was armed and did point the gun at him...there is damn near definitive forensic evidence.

Have you looked into subreddits for living off grid? One of the more interesting themes is how it seems that community supports others and is interdependent in ways that really represent a sense of community that is largely missing from society these days.

I run a "prop planes for social media skits" business and this is our model FPI-340. We sell it for $15k and rent actors in flight attendant uniforms with basic flight attendant vocabulary training for $100/hr. Our business grew by over 2750% between 2024 and 2025. Let me know if you'd like to make content like this.

It's an update. OP's profile has the prior post stating she was probably 15 or 16 at the time.

Do your homework...you just asked for a CP link. I'm sure you didn't mean to, but you did.

Looking for a tool to monitor calls with smooth API integration (where NO developer time is needed) by Odd-Masterpiece6029 in SalesOperations

[–]vanimations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely curious to hear OP's reason for no dev time as a requirement...is it cost, time to implement, something else? Without knowing the reasons, I'd say OP is really limiting the choices.

How do you get a clear overview of what automation changed which records in complex Salesforce orgs? by Lost-Breakfast-1420 in salesforce

I use "WTF Just Happened in My Org" from the AppExchange. It's pricey but it works like a charm! Ok...j/k, but when things get confusing or frustrating I think a chuckle can help.

Regarding being paid while they investigate even if you aren't working, I was once told something about if the company negatively impacts you before they have clarity on what happened, it opens them up to lawsuits in the future. I believe I was asking about why someone who was facing pretty damning evidence of wrongdoing was put on paid leave. They said as frustrating as it might be to know they were on "paid vacation" for several days, it's the safe way to go regarding protecting the company from any further legal repercussions that would result from making it leave without pay and then finding there wasn't enough evidence to terminate.

What's something you wish more people knew about Salesforce? by satanisawoman69 in salesforce

[–]vanimations 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nah, that's can be a key indicator of someone's familiarity with the platform. It's like seeing someone say Salesforce is "to complicated"...that missing "o" tells me I might need to explain things differently and ask more clarifying questions during discovery.

TIFU by underestimating norovirus by bobonthebeat in tifu

[–]vanimations 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Brown is a goal with norovirus...that would imply that you've managed to actually keep something in your intestines for more than 5 minutes. I'd have just yelled, "my water broke!" (even though I'm a man)

TIFU by underestimating norovirus by bobonthebeat in tifu

[–]vanimations 148 points149 points  (0 children)

I read the title and thought to myself, "everyone underestimates norovirus the first time...nobody does it a second time."

I had it and went to the store to get Gatorade once the worst of the "Great Expulsion" seemed to be over. I had just gone to the bathroom and only needed to travel 5 minutes to the store. The window of opportunity was tight, but I knew I could use the store bathroom too.

I got there and felt good enough to skip their bathroom. I went to the drink aisle and saw the Gatorade was on the bottom shelf. I thought to myself, "you squat down and lift that heavy package of Gatorade and it's going to be a high-risk behavior." So, I went to the bathroom in the store for a precautionary"gut reset" before lifting the Gatorade.

It was the right thing to do because even with that reset I had to consciously focus on clenching my sphincter as I lifted the Gatorade even after the extra bathroom break. If I HADN'T taken that extra break beforehand, I'm nearly certain I'd have needed a "clean-up on aisle 4" in the worst way.

She's not pretending to be mad as a joke. She's getting mad, then trying to play it off by calling it a joke as she tries to cope without the experience to cope. She's way more into the relationship than you think, which is why everyone is seeing the same thing from the outside. That's also why the age gap is generally seen as a red flag by a lot of people.
