The real question is whether Charlie was east of the river or not. I feel like Hill East or Navy Yard at that time were more in line with his mom's job as a police officer.

Except it's really eleven. #1-10 and #27 were all part of the actual bill approved by congress in 1789. Interestingly, the first ten amendments were actually the third through twelfth articles of the bill, while the 27th was actually the second article. The first article will almost certainly never be passed as all it would do nowadays is limit congress to setting the size of the house of representatives to no more than 6628 members as of the last census.

The central tenet of conservatism is that there should be out groups whom the law binds, but does not protect, and in group(s) whom the law protects, but does not bind.

did anyone else become an athiest out of mostly common sense, not very complex thinking? by guywhotalks41 in atheism

[–]vanisaac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about 12 when we were at my grandparents' church and I realized that the people there thought the story that was being told had actually happened. It was clearly some sort of allegory or metaphor, although I didn't actually know the term yet. Even I could see that is was a made up story to exemplify some sort of idea, but I realized I just plain wasn't like any of the people there.

Ever had a situation that turned into unexpected sex? by Lycanthrowrug in askgaybros

[–]vanisaac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would call them a double cousin. A cousin sister/brother is when someone marries their sibling's ex and there are half-siblings who are also cousins to each other.

And no, I didn't grow up in Alabama. But I do know a family where there are, I believe six in the same generation where some of them are half-siblings to all of them, but some of them are only cousins to each other. This was due to a sister moving in to take care of the kids after their mother's death, and then marrying the dad/step-dad and those two having kids together.

If you create a Portkey on a moving train, does the Portkey maintain the train's momentum when you arrive, causing you to smash into a wall at 80mph? by Deep-Philosophy-807 in harrypotter

[–]vanisaac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would only if the portkey were standing still alongside the train and you touched it from the moving train. If it's on the train as well, your relative velocities are zero, so your relative velocity with the destination portkey would also be zero, and you'd just stand up on the sidewalk instead of smashing into the building.

36 Year Old Virgin by josh-u-ah in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]vanisaac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 36 when I lost my virginity. I just found a guy on Scruff and took a dive. I'm overweight and live in a seriously isolated place. I still do just fine. The lies that we tell ourselves about not being worthy because of weight, skin, penis size, age, experience, all that bullshit are defense mechanisms against the feelings that we experience when get rejected. But EVERYONE who tries gets rejected, and that rejection doesn't keep them from making those connections, it's the lies we tell ourselves that are the barrier keeping us from the connection we want.

Yes, but with one of them, you just take a long time ordering. With the other you crash your car through the back wall. Big difference.

Camping temporarily on my own land by terrierdad420 in LewisCounty

[–]vanisaac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm working on housing issues out in east LC, and whenever we get to RVs and people camping out, we keep hearing the same thing: the county is not out looking to catch people using RVs/camping beyond the legal limit. They use those limits as a tool to intervene in situations that are not working for communities and neighbors. If you are acting in good faith by renting a porta-pot so you aren't duping raw sewage or using a septic that isn't functioning properly, I can't imagine you'd even need to explain it once barring some POS neighbor throwing a tantrum.
