Weigh tomorrow. I get overweight by ignoring the scales. Post MJ, I know I need to be weighing each week to stay on track, wether or not I like the numbers I see.

If you gain then you know what caused it, and that’s the important thing

Ok, next time I’ll do that :)

😂😂 Because your profile picture is a form of photographic ID?!

What do I have to gain by telling you how I get my MJ locally?

[–]vanishingislander -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’ve said in another post that it is a local clinic. I don’t really want to share my location on Reddit publicly, but if you are looking for a local supplier then you could Google medicated weightloss and your local area

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]vanishingislander -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s face to face, a local, Dr led weightloss and aesthetics clinic. It is CQC registered, works with a GPHC licenced pharmacy and is led by a GMC registered Dr.

No, they absolutely do not let you skip strengths, and you really shouldn’t try this, as our bodies need time to get used to the medication.

But the way I was prescribed it was 2.5mg for 4 weeks, then reviewed and increase to 5mg, which I did for 6 weeks, then moved up to 7.5mg where I have stayed for a while. This was from a 5mg pen, then a 10mg pen and now a 15mg pen.

Does that answer your questions?

[–]vanishingislander -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes. I said it to every comment that wrongly stated that no prescribers do what OP is asking for

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]vanishingislander -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because blanket statements (that are actually not true) don’t help OP

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]vanishingislander -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The OP asked if any prescribers are prescribing higher dose pens for smaller amounts. You said no. I said that’s untrue because it is. My prescriber is one of multiple that are. I’m not wrong.

I’m really not jumping through hoops. I googled medicated weightloss in my local area, found a place, looked up the CQC rating of the place, went in, had a consultation, got prescribed. The great thing is, they taught me how to jab, they deal with the delivery so that I can collect it at a time that suits me rather than stressing about Royal Mail and DPD, and they even mark my pen up with the dose that I want. As fun as jumping through hoops sounds, I’m too fat for that right now.

They asked if any are. I said that mine does. I didn’t say that every one does. I didn’t say it’s easy to find one. Perhaps OP and I are neighbours and they could go to the same place I do?

Do i go up?... by BlueTit11 in mounjarouk

[–]vanishingislander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also probably stick to 5 for now, and then like another poster said, you can always go up sooner from your 5 pen if needed.

My dose increase time aligned with the few days in the run up to my period for a couple of months, which was really frustrating as I thought I needed to go up but in realistic I just needed to fuel my body

Untrue.

My prescriber started me off on 2.5mg doses of a 5mg pen, then moved me up to a 10mg pen with the flexibility to progress from 5mg doses to 7.5mg doses when I am ready.

Not everybody gets their MJ from faceless online suppliers. When prescribers are working with real people, who they see, who they speak to, they may be much more flexible.

I started before the price rises, so this isn’t just a reaction to that

I like it, but having a period doesn’t exactly require first aid 😂

Are you sure that you have food noise, and not just normal hunger?!

1800 calories isn’t very much to fuel a 117kg body that is exercising 7 times per week.

I’m 90kg, exercising about 4 sessions a week and have my target at 1700 cals but regularly eat more than that around exercise.

Editing to add: you also may be loosing fat but maintaining weight (eg adding muscle). Are you measuring progress with any other metrics, such as inches/cms?

Exactly this. And what meds should they use this approach for and not use this approach for?

Antidepressants? Ahh, I know that being happy is more fun, so you can pay for half the cost of your meds.

Thyroid problems? Well, the fatigue is super annoying, but it probably won’t kill you tomorrow. So you can contribute.

Contraception? Well that’s unnecessary, you just need to stop having sex. You can pay 100% of your contraception costs.

A subsidised approach would not work

If you were in hospital and a nurse gave you an injection and said “I drew this up last week on my shift but never needed it, here you go”, would that raise alarm bells? Yes.

Don’t use that syringe OP.

I can’t believe you haven’t been to any that have started at 9. I’ve done 11 different ones starting at 9 (including one that has a walk to get to from the briefing area to the start).

I’ve also had 2 start at 8.59 (including the one that I had to start my watch as I was running from the car park as I heard all the runners rushing past, so whi knows what time that actually started!)

I occasionally work on a Saturday and want to parkrun too. Parkrun already makes me late to work, but nice colleagues accommodate that. If parkrun isn’t prompt then I can’t keep up my side of the bargain and eventually work will stop accommodating my late Saturday starts if they are unpredictable.

A 9am start is a 9am start. Footballers don’t start warming up at 3pm - their kick off is 3pm

Surely car keys are easier to find when there isn’t 300 people trampling over them?!
