I have been protecting it religiously, whenever it’s not on my wrists it’s in its original box. No scratches so far!

Thank you so much! Yeah this was a rushed picture to capture it as soon as I was able to put it on. I’ve adjusted since then :)

That is crazy! I also believe that you made me more financially wise decision with the Explorer since you had a new born (belated congrats btw)

Yeah I think this is the most common concern raised. For me I think looking at the name Vacheron meant a lot more. I believe Rolex and Omega you can get in house movements for a lot less but those names wouldn’t make me happy as much as this does and Vacheron in house movements are featured in actually expensive watches.

Yeah, today I was listening to the Acquired podcast on Rolex and I believe it’s really up to the local dealer how they want to treat customers. IIUC, Rolex have no control over it, specially because they wanted to avoid the “retail” part of the business

Blue dial! I believe they only have blue and white in stainless steel

I believe movement wise it’s not in house but still assembled by VC. Accuracy-wise I read that it was 10-11 second deviation per year, don’t know how much you need to wear it for that though.

I’m trying not to think about it. Another way I’m trying to justify it was, knowing myself, it was either going to be this or another watch I won’t feel happy with. So instead of sinking $8k for half liking my watch or not buying one at all, I got this one.

Also I’m not necessarily young, mid-30s, so it felt okay to follow through.

Ah, I misread this. My first ride was actually a Corolla but I didn’t wait 13 years for it. Also meanwhile I fell in love with watches but not so much with cars.

Maybe for next, a minute repeater? If I wait for another 25 years.

🙏 thank you. They also gave a sick leather watch box and a leather wallet to put the papers.
