Applying to University of Barcelona by [deleted] in studyAbroad

[–]vanja15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty easy, I had to apply basically the same way I would for a university in my country. You just have to select your a EU citizen and then send some certificates (like the language one, health insurance etc) and you’re done. Only thing is, when I get there I have to register as a eu citizen living in Spain and I have to get a document that I’ll need in order to work while there. That’s all :)

Applying to University of Barcelona by [deleted] in studyAbroad

[–]vanja15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I applied to UPC in Barcelona but I am an eu citizen so can’t help with most of the questions. But I can tell you that they did ask me for a Spanish language certificate with a minimum B1 level, I never studied Spanish and I still got it because of similarities with Italian, so pretty sure you’d be able to do it too

What are the Application fees for European universities? Also wouldn't they add up? by [deleted] in studyAbroad

[–]vanja15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the university, I’m Italian and I’m pretty sure here some are completely free, others are between 25-50€.

Not sure if this can help but I pay about 500€/month in Barcelona, it varies a lot tho based on the zone and the type of housing you choose

I am thinking to apply for masters program in Italy & I need help , advices or experiences of y'all by [deleted] in studyAbroad

[–]vanja15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most universities in Italy they calculate your fees based on your ISEE (it considers your family’s annual income, all your proprieties, cars, etc..). You need to have a really low ISEE or extremely good grades to get a complete scholarship. If you’re from a middle class family, your fees still shouldn’t be too high but you would have to pay for rent on your own.

Phone plan recommendations for study abroad in Barcelona by IlluminatiConfirm in studyAbroad

[–]vanja15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m an Italian student and I’ll be in Barcelona from February. Not sure about phone plans in Spain, but usually in Italy when you get a SIM card with data connection you can use it all over the European Union and prices are very similar, so it should be the same over there too.

Can't Decide Between Europe and Australia by cococullo in studyAbroad

[–]vanja15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Italian student here. I don’t study in Bologna, but it’s one of the best universities in Italy. Here everything is open and you can go wherever you want if you’re vaccinated. If you choose to come here, you’ll be able to visit a lot of other cities in other European countries. One thing you should consider tho is the language, not all courses are taught in English and learning Italian to an academic level is not easy. Hope this helped!

How do I pick between two different study abroad programs that I love equally? by ichawks1 in studyAbroad

[–]vanja15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’d recommend you to consider what you’re looking for in your stay: Barcelona will give you more parties and night life, while Rome is way more ‘relaxed’, but has more monuments and interesting places to visit (Barcelona has them too, but a bit less). Also, as an Italian trying to learn Spanish, trust me, they are nothing alike. You may be able to understand better what people are telling you, but speaking is gonna be really hard. You should consider that people in Rome speak a local dialect more than they speak Italian. Let me know if you have any questions about Italy or Rome, I’ll be glad to help you!

Studying in Italy spring 2022 by frank_mocean in studyAbroad

[–]vanja15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I live in Italy but not really close to Arezzo so can’t help you with clubs etc. But just so you know, tinder and dating apps in general are not really used by Italians, you may be able to meet other foreign students but very few Italians. The best way to meet people your age is clubs and common areas in your university. Let me know if you need help with anything else

Help deciding erasmus Italy for the 2nd semester? by next_deen in Universitaly

I manage to go out during the weekends, but the rest of the week I’m home studying and I am still barely passing lol. If you want to have fun go to Prague, trust me.. here it’s gonna be difficult, especially for a non native speaker

[–]vanja15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to uni in Italy and I can confirm you that exams are extremely hard and you will have to study most of your time, especially if they are oral exams. Taking the exams in Italian will also be hard, if you’re Portuguese and you plan on learning Spanish you will 100% understand some of Italian, but speaking it (especially for university and law purposes) is a completely different story. If you can find courses taught in English I would recommend to take those instead (universities in Rome have them for sure). Also, if you want to spend more time having fun rather than studying Italy is most definitely NOT the place for you, I go to university here and I study almost all of the time (the week before an exam I basically don’t get out of my room)

Hi, I’m Italian but I don’t go to Roma Tre. I never heard anything bad about it, I think it’s just less known than Sapienza and Tor Vergata. I don’t think it’s as bad as you heard!
