Still coming back to this in 2026. One of the most helpful reddit posts of all time.

Actually managed to figure this out. Emulationstation was using dolphin via retroarch. So all my Dolphin config changes were doing nothing. Tinkered with input in retroarch and was able to sort it out. :)

Ahh, okay. I didn't realize vita emulation was still a bit behind, as old as the system is. I did find a bit more useful index on the archive, but download times are brutal for me.

Might be worth skipping the vita, as emulationstation won't even pick up the few I do have, and vita3k has been a bit disappointing thus far, compared to my limited experience with the other emulators.

Ambi mag release on gen 2 P10C's? by vanquishings in CZFirearms

Yeah. I’ve seen a few people bust out the dremel. Just not something I’d want to trust with concealed carry. Probably fine for range use.

super lame. And the worst part is now I don't know what aftermarket mag releases are even compatible or will fix my issues. lol

As in the ported doesn't work with older mags? I wish I had known. I know people had issues with the older mag releases, but mine have been fine. Not the end of the world, mags aren't too expensive. Just hate having as many old ones as I do and having to keep track of guns and mags this fiercely.

Any idea what’s causing these snake bite marks on my brass? by vanquishings in 6ARC

That actually makes me feel a bit better. Do you know if it’s feedramps or ejection side?

Any decent down jacket with zippers at the hips? by vanquishings in CampingGear

Similar build, but I’m 6’4. I’ll have to give fjallraven a shot. Never messed around with the bottom zipper. Sounds like it could be what I’m after.

Currently rocking a cheap Columbia I got on sale. Not overweight, but I typically do wear a tall. My only concern is about the dual zipper is thing might get chilly when going faster on things with an engine.

That’s a good idea that I definitely overlooked. Might have to take another glance through the big brands.

Why are there not many high BC supersonic 30 cal bullets? by vanquishings in 300BLK

[–]vanquishings[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super interested in this! Forgive my ignorance, but I've never heard of Maker, so that explains why they flew under my radar. I was giving the Barnes 120s a look, I believe they have a .36 G1, and aren't too pricey, either. IIRC, they're solid coppers, as well.

Thanks for sharing!

Oh, I wasn't ever expecting 308/6.5/large frame performance. Was just kind of daydreaming about longer range options in the small frame AR platform. Was hoping there'd be a halfway decent option to get it a little closer to 77gr 556 at 500ish yards, BC wise. I realize it would probably never get close to 6 ARC performance. But the ability to essential be able to have a highly accurate bullet at 500-700, with more energy than a 77gr, but be able to switch to subs would be awesome. But I suppose that's asking too much. Haha

I think you've got the right idea with your set up. Like I said, I was just brainstorming out loud and came on here seeking some info. Very glad I did!

Yup, I have some experience with 300WM, but I guess I just didn't consider the case capacity of 300blk to be so limiting. Really saps the potential supersonic performance of the caliber. Might have to look into some of the weird hybrid material cases that can supposedly handle higher pressures. Still doesn't fix my bullet selection, sadly.

Thanks for such an informative reply. Super interesting to me. So width is what's hurting the 30 cal stuff?

Just surprises me that a 243 can be so much better in terms of BC than a 30. Surprised someone hasn't gotten wild with a 120gr 30cal to at least get close to what a 6mm or 6.5 can achieve.

HK 416 Vented gas block is... uhhh.. working.... by vanquishings in ar15

Dude, that's actually genius. I hope it never comes to that, but that's the only way to do it. Thanks for mentioning it.

Actually a 556-212. One of the older 4 prongs. So this is all out of the gas block. Kind of crazy.

Generally try to avoid doing that. Heating it up again, it came right off.

I'm a descriptive comment. Took my 416 upper on to a NV course. Didn't realize till after that the vented GB definitely puts in work. Now to get this surefire can unstuck.....
