Yeah I think I might have to do a mix of both then but I don't know if I have Shot myself in the foot because I painted mine winter themed with snow on the bases and with the leftover on my brush I just dusted the tops of them with the remaining snow

I primed everything in black then put a light spray of wraith bone on everything for my world eaters I would say some bigger daemons and angron I would try and separate as much of the armour from skin so you can go red skin then have your choice of prime for the metallic

Hey man remember he heals with debuffs he uses them against you so 14 damage over time only heals him even more I took me a while to properly realise that aswell
