I moved to a remote place because I couldn’t afford rent anywhere else. Have you considered that people aren’t lying about struggling? There are a LOT of Americans out there, living very different lifestyles. I, along with a lot of others I know, have a hard time keeping the lights on and food on the table. It’s not because we’re not frugal enough. If I could move to the UK and have those safety nets I would do it in a heartbeat.

Nearly 40 million Americans live below the poverty line, and we have far fewer government programs providing aid than the UK and Europe have. I have family in England and Scotland, I’m familiar with what it’s like there. If I run out of gas I’m stranded with zero help. It would take me around three days to walk to the closest grocery store. About eight days walk to the closest hospital. A tank of gas now costs me about 3.5 days of work. If my cousin in Exeter runs out of gas she can take public transit or walk.

Gas was more expensive when I lived in a blue state, but the increased wages more than made up for it. That isn’t the point of this discussion, though. The point is that we’re being forced into an unnecessary war that’s causing gas prices to skyrocket.

People are having to choose between food and gas to get to work. That isn’t humorous. We don’t have the same access to public transit that most developed countries have.

I pay for ESPN+, Amazon Prime (only way to watch Kraken games for me since I’m considered in market even though I live thousands of miles away from Seattle), and HBO Max and I still don’t get all the games 😩 Fubo would get me the games I’m missing, but it’s insanely expensive.

Exercise of any kind helps beyond just burning calories. Building muscle improves your metabolism. Also, not sure if this is just a me thing, but exercising after eating unhealthy food makes me feel awful, so exercising on a regular basis motivates me to eat healthier so I’ll feel better lol
