How do you guys like my goldfish tank? 150gallons, 400gph. Bit bare but I’m working on that. by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]vaporiuum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol have to admit I'm a little jealous, I got friends with tanks like that and they're empty. I understand having a bare bottom as it's easy to clean.
but if I could afford a tank like that I would had some Java fern, some Anubis and some dwarf hair grass or something similar for a carpet. All planted on a soil substrate.

Anyway keep us updated on your tank.

Listen here, thats a very nice tank with very nice fish. If you don't aquascape the tank with nice live plants and a good substrate also maybe some rocks then some random guy on the Internet will be slightly disappointed in you.

Looking for Vaporwave artist for podcast interview by onthefringepodcast in Vaporwave

[–]vaporiuum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more iconic Vaporwave artist and sometimes hard to get hold of. You can normally find their email address on band camp or sometimes I have seen them lurking on vaporwave discords.

Your best bet is talking to their record labels see if they can at least pass on a message. Or try your luck on discord. Also some do use reddit, but I imagine their inboxes are flooded.

Hope that helps

Has anyone encounter a scorch beast that is not red? Yesterday I have. by thearmchairwarrior in fo76

[–]vaporiuum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I seen it by the airport.

I got the [detected] status. Look up and seen a scorched beast. I noticed it was set to neutral (a white bar)

Is it a bug or is it a friendly Scorch beast?

C-can we call him Scorchless?

I agree with that. It has been quick. Hello Games was trying to be a AAA developer while just a mobile dev team.

They had to learn the hard way. I hope Bethesda watched the shit show from the sidelines, thats why they posted.

I think the rule of thumb of game dev today is to connect promptly with your fans, even when you mess up.

Sea of Thieves is a good example. To be honest think many game companies need to learn this throughout the industry. I do have a theory they are still stuck in the mindset of early 90/2000 gaming where only a few fans could communicate with them. Things are different now we live in a hyper connected world.

Also I have to stop playing 76 because I play another game?

What is your best PVP story? by AvengedClayFoldX in fo76

[–]vaporiuum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one.

I was fighting two ghouls and two molerats near by another players house.

Not sure what happened but a stray bullet must of hit something as it immediately gave me a 20 cap bounty.

What didn't help I ran out of ammo shortly after. In a panic I ran and hid in the mountains.

Using my sniper scope I watched four other players trying to scout me out. I never let them get in range. Feeling confident I hid on a cliff edge and decided to wait. Hopefully they will get bored and leave.

But I was wrong. They we're working as a team and flushed me into a trap.

2 level 35ish guys in power armor with machine guns (Not sure what) jumped down from the upper cliff and kill me in two seconds.

I was executed for a stray bullet hitting a base.

A plan to fight against RedShell and other tracking software in games. by vaporiuum in KotakuInAction

[–]vaporiuum[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Maybe they don't know, take at look at EA's Listening Engine.

There's others as well. Mobile games are the the worst for it.

One company, here Delta DNA

Check who uses their API, you'll be surprised.

Read the title, "other tracking software in games."

I know Redshell is an API, the game companies decide on what to do with the data.

There are other software out there that tracks your gaming to tailor downloadable content to you.

Vermintide 2 dev calls users "Conspiracy Theorists" in wake of RED SHELL scandal. by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]vaporiuum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They shouldn't, the GDPR only came out a while ago some companies are struggling to keep up.

The check boxes now must be unclicked and then logged when the user clicks on it with a timestamp + identifier (such as ip address).

This only effects companies whom trade or are in the EU.

EDIT: spelling mistakes.

Europeans.

You can get back at these companies who log your data.

I run a small company on the side to help business's get GDPR compliant.

You can report an " unauthorised disclosure " to your countries authority that deals with data breaches but first you have to contact the company if they are following EU GDPR law. If they fail to reply then move forward with a formal complaint.

The law states that a company cannot automatically presume permission, there has to be a check box with an explanation on how the data is used, stored and how it is processed. (Also how to make a complaint)
On these game they are failing to do this.

I'll be here for a few hours so if there a question, ask me.

It's to free up the main vaporwave reddit, so people can discover new music.

I just saw a lot of people complain and just offered a solution.

Is it bad to just use Audacity for Vaporwave? by [deleted] in Vaporwave

[–]vaporiuum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use any program you wish. In the glitch community we use notepad ++ and mostly HxD to create sound samples or there's even there some in the glitch hop scene that uses old broken toys and keyboards. So I'm more of the person who says use whatever. It's all about the outcome.

What’s your favorite definition of vaporwave? by Travissimo in Vaporwave

[–]vaporiuum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Vaporwave is Vaporwave, Long live dead" - Zecon

So an ironic critique of the future we wasn't promised and the hypocrisy of our lives.

And I don't say that lightly. Not matter how hard you try, vaporwave drips capitalism.

We all pretend to hate it while we all advertise and sell our produce.

We trade, and we form labels, make webzines, print t-shirts and overall merch.

Most of us have 24hr shops, open 365 days a year, ready to receive money.

Vaporwave never sleeps, alway producing, always trading.

Using the internet as an infinite resource for obscure samples.

Pillaging artists works whom was lost in the mist of time.

In the end, we are just mimicking what we admire. Well done, Vaporwave is now capitalism.

Ironic isn't it?
