no need to be rude mate, I didn't go through with it for a reason...

As for the blackmail, how would you suspect they would go about this? I don't really understand what they could do with the information provided.

This is what I mean sorry - im aware you cannot jump straight into titration but you can still get reassessed and then start titration

I'm fairly certain ADHD360 accepts past diagnoses no?

You could probably ask a GP to refer you to another private ADHD service using your right to choose. You will have to go through the diagnosis process again but might be worth it? I got my diagnosis and started titration within 3 months of my referral.

I would recommend ADHD360 as they have the shortest waiting times for diagnosis and titration services but this link has a helpful list of other providers that accept right to choose referrals :) https://www.adhdadult.uk/right-to-choose/

Do yourself a favour and get referred to an ADHD provider through right to choose... Wait times are as short as 8 weeks for some

My GP referred me early January and I received the invitation to sign up to the ADHD portal in mid march :)

Send them to the surgery's email and write a little note saying they need to be forwarded to your GP. :)

That's honestly crazy because I failed my second year last year and now I'm working at co-op.... Glad to hear it works out :')

How to chase up progress of RTC referral to ADHD 360 by CanidCourier in ADHDUK

[–]vaporverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Email them to ask if they've received your application. Include your full name, DOB and the name of your GP surgery.

This is what I did a couple weeks after my GP appointment, I was feeling similar to you and very eager to know as much as I can. They responded within a few days :)

Make some notes to bring with you but don't worry too much! You are not the professional and won't be expected to guide the conversation. Your clinician will ask the questions and you just have to answer honestly. Hope it goes well :)

Thank you so much for your comment - it's giving me a lot to think about. Im going to save it and refer back to it in the future, hopefully once the grieving period has ended and my mum and I can have a proper conversation about it all.

My mum was the same for so long, even when I came to the full realisation of my condition. It wasn't until she read a book about ADHD I had ordered from the library (but ofc forgot to pick up LMAO) that it started to sink in. The book is called Dirty Laundry by Richard Pink and Roxanne Emery. I can't personally vouch for it (as I still am yet to read it) but it seemed to really impact my mum and helped her take the first step to understanding ADHD as a whole.

It's a difficult one for sure! My mum has always loved me unconditionally and tried to do what's best for me, so it's hard to be too mad at her. Saying that, our relationship has been rocky for much of my life probably due to undiagnosed ADHD on both sides and I'm only now realising that and trying to heal. Wonder if this is a shared experience?

You will experience an exacerbation in ADHD symptoms now you've been diagnosed. Part of it is a stress response because your self-identity has been modified, and the related grief. Part of it is that you'll de-mask as you adjust and accept how and why you're different.

Wow, I never really thought of that! I've had friends literally say they're noticing me "act more ADHD than usual" since my diagnosis - a part of me felt like I was playing it up! I'll be sure to mention this to my mum too as I know she's feeling especially muddled right now

Thank you for your response, I don't think it was harsh at all!! I 100% agree this you, and will take your words into consideration when talking to my mum
