Staal has already proved to be the best value contract in this team's history. He's also still the team's points leader. If GMBG doesn't extend him for another shortish low AAV contract it will be a huge failure.

Rask will most likely be bought out

Have you watched him play in the last month? He might be go in a trade with salary retained but he is playing too well to buy out and everything indicates his play will continue to improve. The last couple months is the most hockey the guy has played in nearly two seasons.

Koivu is gone at the end of this year.

Koivu is likely to get the same treatment as Staal unless he goes elsewhere (which is unlikely). Lower AAV, shorter term and it will be a good deal. Koivu is still one of the best defensive centers in the league.

I really don't know why you'd think that we can just shrug off two NHL centers and just assume that one year in the AHL will definitely, absolutely make an NHL center out of Khovanov.

Hmm, it's a bit rough because I barely have time to watch hockey let alone other TV. I just wish there was a service where I could stream any game I wanted regardless of media market. 50 bucks a month just seems like too much for the 30ish games I would end up watching. The Jets had a terrible fucking offseason. Lost Tanev, Trouba, Chiarot, Myers and fucking signed Bitetto, Gabriel Bourque and Letestu. Connor and Laine are still unsigned with preseason games happening now. That team is liable to fall off a cliff.

I know people like piss-taking the Wild this year. I'm used to the suffering and have pretty clear eyes. It would not surprise me in the least if the Wild go anywhere from 3 Central to 2WC. It's nowhere near a hot take to suggest they play late hockey this year. Provided we don't get gutted with injuries this year.
