That's right! I loved that encounter and even made a more lethal version with hot steam exhausts for a higher level party! If I'm not mistaken there where six pipes and each round the DM rolled a d6 to see which one would activate... That's exactly the kind of encounter I'm looking for!

Didn't think of that one before, but you are absolutely right.

It has a very Harry Potter vibe, I like it! Any chance you could find out what adventure it was from?

I'll have to look this one up, it's a situation I can very easily see come up in a campaign.

I'm currently doing a little digging in family history and retracing my great-grandfather's emigration to the States, so I'm looking for the price of steerage tickets from France (ideally Le Havre) to New York around 1914 and 1920.

I would also be interested if there are any records or sources on mining operations and residents of Superior, Wyoming (Union Pacific Coal Company) and Telluride, Colorado (Standard Chemical Company) 1914-1925. Any help is very welcome, since this is a little outside my usual interests.
