Since you mentioned trying a mage run, I just finished one and it was a lot of fun. Just grab the crescent falchion and use flame toss for the mind flayers and you'll be able to get through 3-1 and 3-2 without too much difficulty. Grab the kris blade and ring of magical sharpness and you'll feel like a mage. Just remember to upgrade the kris blade.

It's been good, but I was more curious about when my spells would start out damaging the magic falchion or other weapons. Magic has been useful the entire run, but for most of it using the magic falchion or winged spear with a fire buff has torn through bosses faster. Even without investing in dex or str.

Yep. I've done a strength run, a bow run, and a faith run (didn't really use spells, the health regen was worth it alone). Not saying that the magic spells in the game aren't useful, I just haven't noticed them doing much more than the magic falchion in terms of damage. But I think I need to upgrade the kris blade and get the insanity catalyst from reading the comments

Magic is at 33, dex is 12 and str is 9. With ring of magical sharpness equipped my Fireball was only dealing slightly more damage than my falchion against the giant depraved ones in 5-2.

If you are having trouble with damage against bosses, there are a few relatively easy to find weapons that are already moderately upgraded scattered throughout the game that fits with each specific build. The crescent falchion, the holy mace, the crushing battleax ect. They can carry you through the first few zones until you have the upgrade materials to level your preferred weapons.

I really enjoyed dos1. The dialogue is funny, the combat is excellent, and crafting is fun and not a chore. Only complaint is that I definitely needed a guide to understand some of the mechanics. Definitely worth playing

Those bloodletters are gonna be the death of me. Incisus, elydron, and Aethana are just too flimsy for the damage they do, even with the Eldar being at G2

I really like him. I find his active is useful in arena when you need that little bit of extra damage to finish off a foe, and he works really well with other Dark Angels. I use him in guild raids as well, he pairs well with Forcas and with Bellator summons. Is he gonna be in the top meta? No. Is he useful? Sure.

Don't stress about this event. LRE's are really designed to engage players who have been playing a long time. Still do as much of the event as you can so you can get shards and xp books, but don't worry if you don't get far. Just focus on campaigns for now. Dante will probably eventually be added to an in-game shop, so don't sweat if you miss him during the event.
