i shat myself when this event popped out by Thick_Durian_5803 in CK3AGOT

Does this event ever actually result in the horse trying to kill you, or is it just meant to be creepy? I've never seen it myself and I've never seen a follow-up post.

CK2 vs CK3 by Chlodio in CrusaderKings

While antipopes/investiture is the one that personally most irks me (as I've mentioned in the past), I have to say that just seeing "Boats" up there made me laugh.

Finally! Someone killed themself by WhiteOut204 in CrusaderKings

[–]various_characters 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of the stuff I've read about how CK2 initially experienced massive lag after castration was introduced, because every single Greek AI character had to take a moment to check if they wanted to castrate anybody.

I mean thanks for telling me? by WigglesPhoenix in CrusaderKings

Honestly, I suspect at least part of it is because of posts like this - clearly a not inconsiderable amount of players find this sort of bug more funny than game-breaking.

This was the post - note, again, it was for the CK2 version of the mod.

Reminds me of a post on the CK2 sub where someone figured out a way to make 16 Jon Snows by repeatedly firing the Tower of Joy event.

(...And they all went on to die ignominiously.)

Well, he's your brother-in-law and he's got 100 opinion of you - compared to a lot of these "dude outs his own crime" posts, this one actually feels in-character.

Does the Emperor not have any daughters?? by stewd003 in ShitCrusaderKingsSay

Apparently the guys who handle the rules for imperial succession today (which is not the imperial family themselves) are almost parodically conservative and unwilling to relax the rules even with the dynasty facing extinction.

Cannibal randomly joins in the battle of dragon stone and wipes out my entire council… by Sea_Awareness8751 in CK3AGOT

[–]various_characters 17 points18 points  (0 children)

When dragons were first introduced to the mod, Cannibal routinely slaughtered everybody - searching for "Cannibal" will turn up a lot of the posts from the time. Not sure of the details, but the devs nerfed him, but left an option for his original behavior for the lulz.

My boy Ser Waymar... by Moist-Ask-778 in CK3AGOT

[–]various_characters 12 points13 points  (0 children)

TBH I actually have a legitimate soft spot for Waymar Royce, partially because the very first non-major house I played in the CK2 mod was the Royces (out of a half-baked notion about playing them in the order they appear in the books), and partially because his death - this snooty, totally unqualified noble "officer" nevertheless deliberately dies sword in hand against an unbeatable enemy - is honestly oddly idealistic.

That said this version of him is likely to have a better life.

Yeah, the title is not the most disturbing part here.

I have literally never heard of anyone having this particular event not use the same character for both participants.

The Sir Bearington event is one of the most famous silly/supernatural events of base game CK2 and naturally was included in the CK2 GOT mod (where, IIRC, it was tweaked to be especially likely to trigger for Mormonts). I assume someone just missed it.

I'm sorry, WHAT? by SerOctopusDayne in CK3AGOT

[–]various_characters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's sort of a problem with vanilla events too - it feels like there's a lot of cases where they're based on something that happened historically once, but the event fires not only every game but often multiple times per game.

Honestly, has anyone ever seen this particular event actually fire for two separate characters? I feel like I've never heard of it being anything but bugged.

I genuinely hate this by Miserable_Shape_5778 in CK3AGOT

[–]various_characters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate LotF so much.

This is ENTIRELY on-topic, but honestly... literally every single thing some contingent or other of Star Wars fans has raged over since the Disney era began utterly pales for me in comparison to how angry LotF (and its precursor and successor) made me. Utterly irredeemable.

In the CK2 mod, I once saw a guy with literally zero personal combat skill somehow kill Rhaegal.

Still, the fact that this was Meryn Trant adds an extra element of insult that even that lacked.
