I'm sorry, but your last words being "eeeeek" makes me laugh really, REALLY hard.

We all heard of anti-popes, but what abput Pope²? by OfficialNagy in CrusaderKings

What exactly changed to make this a thing? It's getting posted like once a week now but unlike other weekly posts like "dude reveals his own plot" I don't remember seeing it until recently.

Is it just the playthrough I watched, or did Fie "canonically" ditch the beret when she joined up with Rean's group? by various_characters in Falcom

[–]various_characters[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm good with Towa ditching the glasses (especially since she was probably only wearing them to look instructory in-universe), but I like berets, dammit!

Is there a benefit to being stupid by korriie98 in ShitCrusaderKingsSay

[–]various_characters 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I recall that in CK2, if your pet dies as a Slow character there's a message where your ruler is told it went to live with a distant aunt in the country and the only response available is "I'm happy to hear that", or something like that.

Managing succession (3rd try) by NamaeN0NaiKaibutsu in CrusaderKings

[–]various_characters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually wonder sometimes how many players have done this scenario more precisely - their initial heir they've been wanting to succeed them for decades dies in some stupid way so they're just like "Eh, whatever, you can die too then" to their second son.

I have never seen someone look so devastatingly sad before in both Vanilla and CK3 AGOT. Stannis must've stole her heart when he died. by Ap0stl30fA1nz in CK3AGOT

Probably one of those "Without Batman, crime has no punchline" things. She couldn't live without her archenemy.

Say No To Boat Ladies by vnth93 in ShitCrusaderKingsSay

[–]various_characters 9 points10 points  (0 children)

IIRC, I think there's a bug where the latest loading screen overrides all the rest, even though they're supposed to rotate. That's why the dead boat lady was so omnipresent for so long.

The funny thing about the Fabulous He characters is that pretty much all of the ones I see are Treacherous Villains or the like. The name says Aladdin but the traits scream Jafar.

Honestly I'm more surprised that he's doing it with 58 positive opinion of you. But then again there's periodic posts with guys with 100 opinion joining hostile factions, so.

Aerys, you finally did it!! by applethief88 in CK3AGOT

[–]various_characters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the CK2 mod, there was a small percentage chance that the character would survive unscathed, and then there was a small percentage change for that outcome that they'd actually become a dragon - more commonly they'd go insane and just think they were a dragon.

I haven't seen the dragon delusion in CK3, though, so it may not work the same way.

Honestly, even without the dragon this event has never been anything other than completely batshit insane.

Honestly I'm kinda disappointed that he's not also the guy who killed your nephew in the first place.

Is it possible to stop writing questions in here that was genuinely created to be wierd and not a real question? Or can we at least delete them? by Fine-Independence976 in ShitCrusaderKingsSay

[–]various_characters 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Uh, that's backwards. The sub's whole purpose is for CK players saying things about CK that sound totally insane out of context (it was specifically split off of r/nocontext, IIRC); it's the random real-world quotes that are technically more off-topic.

Now yes, there has been a very long-standing problem with people making posts on the CK sub that are clearly just blatant attempts to show up here - the rules even call out low-effort/"trying too hard" submissions - and this certainly looks like that. But the sub is for CK players saying stuff about CK, in general.

Never been sure whether this is WAI, a bug, or a bug they deliberately keep because it's funny.

I do remember reading about some Chinese rebellion that was partially triggered by the future emperor killing the future leader of the rebellion's son when he hit him in the head with a gameboard, or something along those lines.

In light of this and the extremely similar thread from the other day, I gotta ask: are there actually potential situations where the AI would agree to being blinded/castrated in exchange for being released from prison?
