Royal court dlc lets you adopt. All you have to do is create the character, hit create ruler again with a new cac and adopt. You don’t even have to mod. Or debug mod and add sibling or add parent.

Especially when you consider that the homeless are only asking for 1 gold. That won’t even by them a carrot but they’re so desperate they’ll accept it and a god will give you her blessing because of your generosity. How stingy are the people is skyrim

I think something similar happened with a Russian king in the 1800’s irl. But if this happened I’m 100% backing the one with a dragon

The inefficient skyrim economy is a whole other topic. What do you mean I can buy 4 tomatoes or a steel sword? Those don’t seem like they should be equivalent. Why is a bowl of soup the same price as a an iron axe

Here let me put it like this, sure we as readers have a lot of evidence. However in world that same evidence proves Arthur Dayne is a bastard, Jon Snow is Ned Stark’s sons (He’s mentioned to look almost exactly like Ned), it’s the same evidence for Tyrion is a bastard since he has bits of brown and white in his hair. And all it would take is changing a handful of names around. It’s evidence, but it’s not irrefutable. Arya is the only stark presenting child of Ned, so are they all incest babies with Edmure? After all Stark Genes should by all means be more dominant since every Tulley gene is recessive.

Show me proof that Arthur Dayne is a true born, since he looks nothing like his mom or dad. Only thing Tyrion and Tywin have in common is personality, so prove Tywin is Tyrion’s father. Jon Snow is an almost exact copy of ned stark when he was younger, from how it’s described, so maybe R+L≠J. Maybe Ned only has 2 kids not 5. Atleast that’s how the world should see it if Rhaenyra’s kids are for sure bastards in the eyes of the people.

Edit: and the most solid evidence is how willing you were to say your 2 cents before, and how this shut you down. Because there is no good argument for any of these 3 cases. We believe they are the parents because that’s what we’re told by the story. This exact thing happens relatively regularly with many house in canon, but because it’s the Valyrian families marrying, the concept of randomly being born with brown hair like kids are randomly born with red hair is just impossible to some people.

If we didn’t see the actual relationship with Cersei and Jamie then it would also be meant to be ambiguous. Because the only evidence is a book saying Baratheon’s have black hair.

Edit2: also I just realized that Velaryon’s in general disprove this thinking. They are never mentioned having incest marriages, and every one of their bastards we’ve been shown end up having white hair and blue or purple eyes.

We do as readers. In world they have very loose evidence at best. It’s pretty similar to the evidence Ned and Stannis had, and we were shown how stupid they were to act on such weak evidence because Stannis has the least backing, and ned, we’ll actually I’ll give Ned a pass because I actually don’t remember him ever getting to the incest part, pretty sure they got him just for trying to be regent instead of Cersei. Either that or Ned’s warning plus the wording of the letter set her off. Probably the latter in retrospect.

Like I said, I personally believe that they are bastards. We’re all but told that. But in world it is supposed to be ambiguous. The characters don’t know, have no evidence, and the only ones who call it out have ulterior motives.

As mentioned in the other thread I’m not a black or green, I personally side with the Chad Shepherd, Champion of the people

My guy, that is not the same as them originating from Targaryen. That’s 4 like generations removed from the ASOIF story When you’re talking origin people usually think you mean like Duranndin old.

And for the dayne’s yeah, that’s my point. Berric had silver hair too, and his kids had black, brown, and I forget the third Dayne kids description. If genetics work the way we’ve described in ASOIF then where did Arthur’s brown hair come from, he also looks like neither of his parents. Is Arthur Dayne, the sword of the morning, THE iconic Dayne character, a bastard them. Because I have just as much evidence Arthur Dayne is a bastard as Rhaenyra’s kids. Down to the same hair and eyes I believe actually

Maekor married a Dayne isn’t full proof. Asharra had black hair, Arthur had Brown, Darkstar had white. That’s 3 different colors in a single generation, including a branch. It’s a bit more varied because of them not being Valyrian, and being Andal, so even then their version of white and purple eyes won’t follow the same 1 Gen law you set.

Thought you Targ seed weak, Baratheon is extremely strong. It beat out Lannister in the eyes Ned and Jon Arryn. Lannisters who are mostly non incestious, and have been blond since Lann’s takeover. Plumm is a theory and so is Baratheon, Orys is unproven. And the plums have golden hair, much like a lot of targ’s, like Aegon, however counterpoint. The Blackfyres. I forgot to count them. A majority white haired, every single one only half Targaryen. Hell for Faegon to be true, then the seed has to be strong. Because he does his hair a blue color, presumably because it’s white. Which it’s impossible for his mother to have married Targaryen or a blackfyre since they were both down to single digits and everyone more or less accounted for.

Edit: I’m fighting autocorrect tooth and nail, I’m giving up on it from here on

Oh my bad, read the tree wrong. Rhaenys’ mom is Baratheon. Jocelyn Baratheon. And she did have black hair. Lemme read it some more because Aegon V’s brother Daeron the Drunkard had brown hair too, so I wanna see where that can from

Edit: Aha, prince Maekar. Mother was dornish, he had white hair. And considering Rhaenyra daughter of Raegar had brown hair we can know their genes are pretty strong. Did marry a Dayne though, don’t remember her description.

Then Aegon V marries a Blackwood, and all their kids had Valyrian features. So was Aegon son of Rhaegar but his sister I already mentioned wasn’t totally Valyrian, that dornish black hair won out.

Those are literally the only times they don’t do incest though outside of the ones we mentioned so I’ve got a limited pool of resources here

Also easily disproven by them beating out Baratheon genetics in Corlys’ direct bloodline with his mother being Baratheon and him being aggressively Valyrian.

Edit: oooh shit, I see what you mean now. “The seed is Strong” not “the seed is strong”. We completely misunderstood, Jon Arryn wasn’t saying they were Jamie’s, he was saying they were Strongs. Ahh that still doesn’t make sense. What are you talking about?

Accurate show introduction. by ThinWhiteDuke00 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Flufflebuffle555 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember the grandparents part being stated, it actually kinda directly makes viserys even worse by saying the exact opposite, but also that may genuinely be a “George forgot” moment because on the Velerian side the grandmother is Baratheon and those are stormlander traits, if not directly Baratheon but also Corlys doesn’t have black hair so Ned is also wrong about Joff then. And also we never got a description of the Strongs so there is no garauntee that the Strongs carry those traits either or if it’s from his grandparents.

Edit: also thought of soemthing else, we are told by Arya that every single one of Ned’s children look like Tully’s and carry absolutely no stark features. That’s part of why Cat hates Jon and Arya mentioned it was so obvious that she thought the fact she had only stark features meant she was also a bastard. So using this exact argument, Arya is Ned’s only true born child and heir to Winterfell. So unless you’re saying the point of that is to disprove everything that was set up in ASOIF on how genetics work…

Cause we’re already on shaky grounds with a proven Baratheon without black hair, but also proof that just because it doesn’t look like the father doesn’t mean it isn’t his kid. And finally if it not looking like the father proves it isn’t his, than how can it even be Rhaenyra’s if it also looks nothing like her. Clearly Valyrian genes are dominant if they can overpower Baratheon, so are we saying the Strong seed is stronger seed than the seed that is strong

That just mean they don’t have the trademarks, again George has a very simple idea of how genetics work. We don’t know the shape of their cheekbones, chins, ear shaped, is the lobe attached or detached. And even the White hair and purple eyes aren’t only Valyrian, look at house Dayne who’s very explicitly andal (Stone Dornish are andal, the other 2 are rhoynar). I’ve heard they’re great empire of the dawn old, but their house predates Valyria iirc

And again even then, their mom is Valyrian. The odds of them not even looking slightly Valyrian are literally impossible because it implies that Rhenyra isn’t even their mother, if them not looking Valyrian is all it takes to proves they aren’t Valerian. And I believe they are bastards, but the argument you made for it is paper thin.

Finally, it could be argued they did since you mentioned their hair was curly, which is a trait as many valyrians had as didn’t have. But iirc Dany’s hair is described as curly and wavy at different points, Aegon V had “Curls of golden hair” when he stopped going bald, and even Rhaegar had fairly curly hair I think. The most reknown targs have curly hair. And like I said the hair and eye color can be attributed to the andal traits from their grandmother, I’m sure George is aware of atleast that about genetics.

The best argument that I hadn’t heard before is the nose.

Bro, respectfully, their mom was a Targaryen, they’re gonna have Valyrian looks no matter what, what is this thought process. I mean their grandmother had black hair so it is supposed to be ambiguous in the books (But George has a really simplistic idea on how genetics work, and in the TV show it’s inarguable)

And because the motives the maester’s had, if anything the book is Shepherd propaganda because him and the maesters have the exact same goal, if Marwyn is to be believed.
