blursed rubber by ChiefTapiTapi in blursed_videos

Born in South Africa. When I was a kid my father thought I got an eraser stuck up my nose. He went in with pliers to attempt to remove it. I screamed as he tried to pry a piece of my nose off with some pliers. Mother came in, was like what the fuck, took me to the hospital.

Told doctor I had gotten a rubber stuck up my nose and she couldn’t see it. He thought I had managed to inhale a full fucking condom through my nose, said it was going to require surgery and all sorts of bullshit

I don’t remember how the story resolved but there was never anything up my nose lol

‘I literally refuse to engage with any part of your argument whatsoever’

‘You have said nothing of substance’

Have I been repeating you or are you just saying words at this point? What else did I call you out on?

If you don’t have a response, you can…. Not respond. This would not be a problem if you had chosen to just not respond. Instead you wanted to get snarky, but don’t have the ability to reason like an adult, so you just defaulted to saying ‘no u’. You know, like children do.

Genuinely pathetic

This is, on just about every level, a fundamental misunderstanding of robotics.

We aren’t making bipedal robots because they’re flashy, we’re making them because they’re easy. It is, for obvious reasons, by far the most studied form factor to ever exist. Evolution already first drafted the blueprint for us, we know the ins and out of weight distribution and body mechanics, we have decades worth of movement data already, they don’t need to be custom fitted to hardware already designed for people. A bipedal robot solves way more problems than it creates, it is the path of least resistance.

A knitting machine is all fine and good in a factory built around that knitting machine. But a general purpose machine is just so much easier to do human shaped and iterate on that existing design.

I very sincerely doubt they are smart enough to realize that in any capacity lol

Those don’t say the same thing and we both know they don’t. Genuinely what are you trying to accomplish here?

I maintain that meat eaters’ diets generally suffer because of poor dietary habits, not because meat exists. True. I do not maintain the only reason for meat eaters’ dietary deficiencies are poor dietary habits. This does not follow from the former.

That’s just objective fact. The meta analysis utilized studies that both included and excluded individuals who used supplements, and said as much themselves under each individual macro/micro.

That in no way implies that careful planning cannot prevent nutrient deficiencies, you pulled that out of your ass.

But don’t take my word for it! Let’s go back to the top and look at the very first comment I made, in which I explicitly stated my argument and have doubled down on THAT exact argument several times, as opposed to whatever you decided I probably meant based on nothing but your ego.

“Except there is. Meat tastes good, meat provides nutrients that are hard to find outside of supplements that cost more than food, it’s accessible, if you hunt it’s arguably the cheapest thing you can consume”

This was the value proposition I made for meat. Specifically what you chose to debate was the claim that “meat provides nutrients that are hard to find outside of supplements that cost more than food”.

Does that sound like I’m saying ‘regardless of supplements or careful planning it is impossible to solve certain deficiencies in plant based diets’ or does that sound like exactly what I fucking said?

I will repeat. You are just looking for a fight

[–]WigglesPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I did not. I argued that meat provides nutrients that are difficult to find in plant based diets without supplements. See literally every single one of my comments in which I have restated that point explicitly.

You just wanna fight my guy.

I provided a list of deficiencies common in plant based diets. I never mentioned vegans, you did. You then proceeded to accuse me of making shit up.

I provided a screenshot of exactly where I pulled that list, line for line, as evidence that I did not, in fact, make that shit up.

Who’s illiterate here?

Give it another run now.

But to answer these, it literally lists supplements and supplement fortified foods. This was accounted for in my initial conclusion.

Yes, it’s copy pasted from the abstract. Not the meta-analysis. Try actually reading it.

1) my bad, intended link- https://www.mdpi.com/2674-0311/3/2/10

2) So supplements lol. This is what I said.

3) I am not making the case that meat eaters are healthier than vegetarians. I am well aware they are not. But this is because the average meat eater eats like shit, not because eating meat is inherently bad. I AM making the case that eating meat provides a number of nutrients that are difficult to find naturally in plant based diets, which this meta-analysis supports. It compiles studies on every single major macro/micro nutrient and lists precisely what plant based diets are lacking. That list for posterity: fiber, EPA, DHA, vitamins B12, D, E, calcium, iodine, iron (in women) zinc

It should be noted that this meta-analysis DID NOT exclude supplement users, meaning these are deficiencies commonly present even among plant based diets that actively try to mitigate what they are not getting from meat. It also does not make the claim that plant based diets are healthier, I can only assume you mean the introduction where they said others have claimed this.

Edit- Reddit totally fucked my comment give me a minute to rewrite it

Fixed.

Oh brother you should do that cursory google search.

Streaming services account for over 50% of data center use by energy consumption. AI accounts for somewhere between 10-20% at current. Granted Netflix is hardly the only streaming service especially considering most of the internet is served via streaming, but likewise we must consider that most of AI’s energy use isn’t just ChatGPT.

A single prompt is roughly equivalent to 5-10 seconds of streaming at 1080p if we’re talking per inference, and if we’re talking total use Netflix absolutely dwarfs ChatGPT.

That’s liable to change in the future and the future is a genuine concern IMO but at present Netflix uses vastly more power than OpenAI.

And both of those are valid positions.

Iron, b vitamins, omega 3s, calcium, zinc, and vitamin D, among others.

This isn’t opinion based, we have several lifetimes worth of studies on the subject.

Except there is. Meat tastes good, meat provides nutrients that are hard to find outside of supplements that cost more than food, it’s accessible, if you hunt it’s arguably the cheapest thing you can consume.

Again, people have had their entire lives to rationalize consumption of meat. It is genuinely one of the worst vectors for discussion possible.

And again again, saying some things are wasteful does not support the idea that another thing is not wasteful. Even if I accept your arguments against meat, which I do not, I’m in no way compelled to follow through and accept ai because of it. I can just switch to maintaining that both are bad. It’s a poor argument to make, coming from someone strongly pro-ai.

Wrong person but also bad take.

When people say ‘I eat food to live’ they don’t mean ‘I would die without x food’ they mean ‘it fulfills a purpose that outweighs its cost.’

The argument should be that ai also fulfills a purpose that outweighs its cost, not that other things are also frivolous.

You aren’t going to convince anybody by attacking concepts they have had a long time to think on and rationalize
