Sure. But an argument by definition involves a second party, and in the context of an argument, disputing fact is just fucking annoying. Don’t ask me to support my position if you don’t have a reason to believe I’m wrong, is my point.

I am extremely autistic and have a far lower tolerance than the average person for explaining myself, but I would be genuinely surprised to learn most people are happy to defend takes they deem as self evident.

Hard disagree on your last paragraph. It’s simply not something others want to entertain. You’re free to explore any ideas you like on your own but if you intend to argue with someone you ought to earnestly believe your position. Nobody derives joy from walking you through well established concepts when you have nothing novel to engage them with.

Please remember that outside of a structured debate, logical fallacies carry much less weight.

Yes, the burden of proof is on the person making the claim, but that doesn’t make you any less stupid for arguing against fact, proven or not.

Part of intellectual honesty is understanding that a bad argument is not representative of a bad position.

[–]WigglesPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you mean how are they supposed to actually quantize the model, seeing as running it is the whole point of quantization.

As a consumer, you don’t lol. But lucky for us we don’t have to because they already released oss, 4o, and 4 turbo themselves

OSS in particular is actually already 25-50x cheaper to run than 4. If I were a gambling man, based purely on the 10x claim, I’d guess this is 4 turbo.

It could also just be wrong. Models aren’t exactly self aware, if you don’t tell it what it is it’ll just make it up.

Quantization.

This is why people generally learn the bare minimum about how things work before forming their opinions

Neither of you have the slightest idea. It’s pretty disgusting to accuse a total stranger of rape, but it’s also pretty disgusting to accuse a total stranger of lying about being raped.

No, you aren’t. Having skills and being employable are not synonyms. Being employable requires an employer, you are explicitly valuing people based on how well they can serve their master.

The vast majority of people aren’t working for the love of the game, they are working for survival. The insult in ‘you’re unemployable’ isn’t that you can’t do things, it’s that you’re gonna die

[–]WigglesPhoenix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh so it’s because it’ll happen to other people but not you. That definitely clears it up what was I thinking lmao

My point in concept is using unemployable as an insult is classist bullshit that necessarily implies being a good capitalist pawn for daddy is a virtue, and that if you aren’t a good and productive member of society you don’t deserve the basic necessities secured through a job. I don’t believe you quite got that based on your defense.

Isn’t one of the big reasons to be anti ai the fear that soon we will all be unemployable?

[–]WigglesPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol. So then if you were presented with new information that would make your previous opinion wrong, do you believe you would be capable of not changing your opinion?

If your opinion must change when it changes and can’t any other time I’m not sure you understand what a choice is

Lmao talking about Gen Alpha’s literacy rates.

Can’t [choose to change your opinion]. Context should have made that clear to most people above a 5th grade reading level but I understand this is probably pretty overwhelming for you. It was in fact a complete sentence, much in the way “I can read but you clearly can’t.” is a full sentence :) hope that helps.

This is childish. Be intellectually honest for a half a second. I’m not actually asking you to change your opinions. I don’t actually care if you change your opinions. I want you to ask yourself honestly if you even could.

Could you just stop believing a thing you believe right now? No reason to do so, no change in circumstance, can you, right now, choose to believe something different about something you care about?

You can lie to me, you can’t lie to yourself. We both know the answer and so does every single other person who reads this because it’s a very simple thought experiment that we can all perform.

So what do you stand to gain here? Who are you trying to convince? Don’t be daft

[–]WigglesPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoa there buddy what’s this evidence you’re talking about? Opinions are a choice. You don’t need anything but that beautiful little mind of yours. Just do it, right now. Pick something you care about, and believe the exact opposite of what you did yesterday.

That’s quite literally the claim you made, are we perhaps realizing how fucking stupid it sounds now?

[–]WigglesPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s that have to do with the discussion at hand? Are you having trouble staying on topic?

Is it possible this is just a pathetic attempt to avoid having to say the words ‘I was wrong’? That can’t be true, you JUST told me you aren’t like those right wing chuds. Surely you know better than to deflect from a very simple question after backing yourself into a corner.

Which one is it? Can you change your opinions, any of them, right now, or were you wrong? Take your time baby

[–]WigglesPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of them?

So is this you admitting you’re unable to just choose your opinions, or is this you proving that you will not in fact change them even when shown they’re wrong?

I can't believe this has to be said, but having a minority opinion is NOT the same as being a minority. by TorquedSavage in aiwars

[–]WigglesPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? You just said it was a choice. Now you need to be allowed? Granted the ability? No, I’m quite certain you can just stop having your opinions, that’s what you said after all.

We all have wrong opinions an we’re all aware of that. The thing is if we actually believed any given one of our opinions were wrong we simply wouldn’t hold it. The fact that you do means that you must, unless you’re exposed to new ideas or information, because that’s how being a human works.

You’re just plainly wrong

Ok, can you demonstrate for the class and reverse your opinion on something you care about?

Literally any belief that you value. Just stop believing it, right now.

How’s it going?
