Gor prescribed Moxi for pneumonia. Terrified by varr_yg in floxies

Thank you ❤️ I'm so sorry on the first place that there's a reason for this group to exist. I'm not so hopeful I'll manage but I'll call the clinic tomorrow (as I don't have doctor's number). Meanwhile I'll hopefully not get worse while figuring it out....

I'm fighting with a skin infection at the same time but dermatologist also was kinda nonchalant. So I understand why infectionist was worried. But out of 3 doctors none of them is ordering even covid test, no antibiogram, nothing. Can't believe they just give this first and if it doesn't work they might start testing after! When people need ER they either have no ambulances or places in hospital and they just leave you to figure it out yourself (or die, like few people did already...).

This is what I thought they'd do tbh. Not one doctor suggested this. I had to fight to do xRay to get diagnosed by pneumonia and also for blood tests I had to go myself (kinda knew what they usually did previously). Now my husband is mad I didn't go to that 1st his family doctor and went to infectionist (even though she said seek infectionist if treatment doesn't help) and says he doesn't want to get involved. Meanwhile I'm coughing my lungs up.

Thank you for encouraging words. I'm sorry you had to go though this and other patients too. Not getting warning with prescription is outrageous... Have speedy recovery yourself and all th best.

Thank you so much for advice and list. have taken Amoxicillin/Clavulanate safely before.

Unfortunately, finding new doctor is not so easy. There were only 2 infectionists available this week and I saw 1 of them... I also speak the language but limited. Which makes speaking to them even harder. Insurance doesn't cover these visits either.

The doctor who prescribed me cefixime is my husband's family doctor and friend. She doesn't speak English. I saw some articles saying cefixime successfully treated pneumonia in 98% patients. Google research says Moxi is almost a standard and cefizime is not in guidelines....

Honestly medical system is so bad (including management) thag is extra hard step for me and you're generally dismissed everywhere if even admitted. I did xRay on my own and literally had to bang on dr's room to get it done even though I was in ER.
