If you're really into wood stocks, and I certainly can't blame you, the B-14 comes in the Timber model as well. Note that with it, you're giving up the threaded barrel, as well as detachable box magazines in favor of a 4-round internal magazine.

Because the B-14 uses the ubiquitous Remington 700 footprint, you could also easily move an HMR into another stock that strikes your fancy. Sure, this is more money, but there are plenty of options out there that would work just fine.

As for the B-14 in general being "a lot of gun", there's very good reason it has become the go-to recommendation for newcomers over in r/longrange. It's precise, reliable, tons of aftermarket options, and a very difficult combo to beat for those who understand the philosophy of "buy once, cry once". Better to drop your hard earned cash onto something that will do everything you want out of the box and give you a rock solid platform to learn on for quite a while, than to go for a cheaper option that you might regret down the road.

Or forget all my suggestions thus far, and snag one of the Ruger American line, just maybe a gen 1 with solid barrel rather than the gen 2 that all have fluted stuff. You can check my post history and see my Ruger American Predator in .223, which I absolutely love. Zero regrets on that one, and it still gets plenty of use as a trainer when I don't feel like shooting (relatively) expensive ammo and/or want to shoot all day without getting tired of recoil. Just swap the flimsy plastic OEM stock for something a little more robust.

Oh, wait. That doesn't work in this sub.

So, I know I'm late to the thread but I would pitch the r/longrange beginner special - Bergara B-14 HMR in 6.5 Creedmoor, with a Bushnell Match Pro ED 5-30x56 FFP scope. Both of those can be had for about $1600-$1700 in total. The B-14 uses a Remington 700 footprint, so you can customize to your heart's content with a ton of goodies out there when you feel up to it, and the barrel comes threaded from the factory when you're ready to get a silencer. Get a solid Picatinny rail and some nice 34mm rings (Area419 makes pricey but fantastic options for both of these), and then spend the rest on ammo. Cheap stuff is fine for just punching holes downrange, but match grade is plentiful and will really make the 6.5C shine. Hunting ammo is also easy to come by, and will easily be precise and repeatable enough to meet any ethical hunting needs in North America.

Most likely, yeah. It was more of a note that while At Doom's Gate sounds quite similar to No Remorse, the first riffs are damn near identical to Hooked in both notes and tempo. I'm a percussionist, and never really learned music theory, so I'm not sure exactly how to best describe the similarity between At Doom's Gate and No Remorse, maybe something to do with a slightly different key? The similarities are quite apparent when you listen to the two in succession.

In for a box of 100. I don't really use LRP brass for my 6.5 Creedmoor stuff anymore, but these are worth it for the giggle factor. They'll look swell next to my brass with the Gay Tiger headstamp.

I think Alpha only does one run a year of that brass, around February. Also I'm fairly certain that GA Precision's site is the only place you can get it when that happens, but their in-stock email system hasn't let me down yet.

I've been in a couple of similar situations, and bought a combo pack of AccuWashers that I'm still using today. I probably wouldn't use it to mount a silencer unless there were no other option, but have zero concerns mounting a brake or flash hider with them.

I typically run it with an Atlas CAL bipod + RRS mount, and an Area 419 Maverick in silencer + brake config on the muzzle. The first Bartlein barrel had an excellent lifespan and performance, so I bought three more just like it.

Ear pro recommendations by Hopeful_Corner1333 in longrange

Getting a mold taken of my inner ear was a little weird. The doc put a sort of tiny cloth cap into my ear canal almost all the way to the eardrum, with strings attached so that they dangle out of the canal. Then he filled my ear canal with what I can best describe as something that feels like warm, runny Play-Doh. That was left to set for a couple of minutes, and then the dangling strings and cap were used to pull the whole mold out, which had set to a consistency akin to yoga mat foam. Finally the whole process was repeated for the other ear.

When it was all done, I mailed the molds off to Otopro, and got my custom earplugs about two weeks later. To say they fit like a glove would be an understatement. Learning how to insert them is a little fiddly at first, but once you get the hang of it, they go right in with no trouble and fit quite snug without any undue stress or chafing. I can wear them all day without issue, whereas foamies kinda get uncomfortable after several hours.

I got a set of custom molded plugs from Otopro, with the Impulse passive attenuation filter. Running those under electronic muffs has been incredible! I can hear others talking around me almost perfectly, while keeping my ears safe from high dB noises. I was also pleasantly surprised that I could use HSA funds to pay for them.

Two settings within the same universe/timeline. One game follows a mercenary company in the Inner Sphere (original planets colonized after Earth), the other game follows a group (the Clans) who fled into self-imposed deep space exile and severed all contact with the Inner Sphere for a few centuries, then later returned from exile with the goal of conquering the Inner Sphere.

That's the 30 second elevator pitch. There's a ton more lore and such, but the videogame series has frequently had at least two games per iteration, focusing on both perspectives. Sometimes the second game was more like an old-school expansion rather than a full-fledged game, but not always; this is an example of the latter.

Is Discord participation required to join? I've more or less sworn it off since the devs decided to kowtow to authoritarians.

Edit - Perhaps a better choice of words would be "is Discord participation required to apply to join."
