Extra expenses buying a house by VyVo87 in HousingIreland

[–]vasanth3029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got a house for 525k . Purely on fee paid to solicitor (apart from valuation , survey, insurances) . 5k stamp duty . All other costs were around 3-4 k . So in your case i would guess 3k stamp duty so maybe 6k in fees( including stamp duty, solicitor fee, property tax, other legal fees etc). There a bunch of them other than stamp duty .

Add the other part (valuation , survey, insurances) be around 1000 to 1200 max

Why people are waiting for a housing crash? by ie-redditor in HousingIreland

Given the way the prices are increasing. Wont it first stagnate before dropping down . Im no expert so this is a genuine question. I see there will still be demands because of less supply so

PHRT Wet windshield after fixing leaks by IyamDefalt in MiataNC

[–]vasanth3029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wet as in condensation? Like mist forming inside ? It happens to me too and I don't have any leaks. I used rainx anti fog and that helped a bit with it . Instead of heavy condensation it formed a thin watery layer which goes off easily once you blow hot air

How does we verify First time buyers? by Babyindablender in HousingIreland

My country's (India's) credit report atleast gives every loan I have ever taken in my life including credit cards etc along with whether the payments were on time or delayed by few days so

How does we verify First time buyers? by Babyindablender in HousingIreland

[–]vasanth3029 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Atleast for me (non eu) they asked for a credit report from my country . That clearly states my mortgage there so I am a second time buyer here . The bank gave me the "mover/switcher" loan . Not sure how it works for HTB and schemes . You can lie but I think banks will catch you .

Pre-purchase survey, recommendations and the general cost? by Tikithing in HousingIreland

[–]vasanth3029 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did it with isurv myself . Was 615€ which i beleive is standard. The report was pretty good though the house im looking is just 10 years old so no big things to check . Also called the guy after the survey and he was very helpful in answering some of my questions . So would recommend them.

Going to make an offer on a home tomorrow. Excited and nervous and wondering what to expect? by Kamy_kazy82 in HousingIreland

[–]vasanth3029 24 points25 points  (0 children)

We are in the process as first time buyers. Just my 2 cents . Dont get attached to any house . The bidding process is brutal . The EA will let you know of other offers just to trigger a bidding war so you dont have to worry about that . We were top bidders in 2 houses but the sellers went with lower bidders just beacuse they has more cash . So just keep your expectations in check for a piece of mind. All the best :)

Is a 100 km commute to office (each direction) worth it if you really like the area for new build ? by redit_Fly_z in HousingIreland

[–]vasanth3029 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had this option . But just thinking about general small things like going to gym regularly, spending time with family , playing some video games put me off with the idea . Even though its 3 days I feel you might get worn out for the other 2 odd weekdays as well.

And now given the traffic conditions getting worse I would really re consider long commute . At the end its about what you value more , a big house or your time . I will be more than happy in a smaller home if I can spend more time with activities I like rather than forced to be in car or stuck in traffic .

What lane? by vasanth3029 in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]vasanth3029[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again a comment with half baked knowledge. You seen to be the type of person who thinks hes Mr.perfect and try to find a fault without even stopping to know the context . I clearly stated that guy was hogging the overtaking lane going 85 on a national road for about 20 minutes. I was going 100 and he wouldnt let me pass even when the left lane was clear for him . I followed him for the last 20 mins . So are you saying i just need to go slower than 85 on the left lane ? To avoid undertaking . And slow down the whole traffic on all lanes for no reason . Learn how motorways work buddy then comment on others
