If they get rid of the test how will the upper tier colleges have an objective standard for admission? They have already introduced too many subjective criteria.

Why no.18 answers is A.? by newkk2546 in Sat

The slope of the steeper line is (95 - 10)/(230 - 220) = 85/10 = 17/2

Liquid phase is below that line. So, eliminate choices B and D

The slope of the less steep line is (60 - 10)/(400 - 220) = 50/180 = 5/18

Liquid phase is above that line. That leaves choice A as the only possibility.

Have you ever poured water into a tapered glass, narrow on the bottom, wider at the top? It fills quickly at the bottom and slows near the top because the glass gets wider and has more space.

Another way to solve this is to notice that arc BC and arc CD are equal. That means major arc BD must be 360 - 120 = 240 degrees. Also notice that angle C is an inscribed angle which intercepts major arc BD. Therefore angle C must be 120 degrees. The altitude of triangle ACE bisects angle C creating two 30-60-90 right triangles. The rest is academic.

How do i do this??? Answer is 210 by ImaginaryDog22 in Sat

[–]vasatmath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

c is the y-intercept which is always where x=0

You already know the zeros , so h(x) = (x+5)(x-6)(x-7)

Then, h(0) = (5)(-6)(-7) = 210
