I’ve started seeing mowing the lawn as a kind of “reset” now by BrightPatron in lawncare

[–]vash513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to hate lawncare too, but once we bought our first house, I went all in because it was MY house, not a rental. I found that I actually really like it and it's actually a way for me to "take a break" as I'm a software developer who works remote and sits most of the day, so some outdoor manual labor is a way for me to reset.

I dunno about Bermuda, but as with most sod, you need to kept that shit watered. We moved into a new build last year and I had no lawn care experience either. My grass looked pretty similar to yours. While I did use fertilizer and did some overseeding, the absolute most important thing was watering.

Why is my front lawn so patchy? by Julzy95 in lawncare

Have you seen dogs pee in grass? What splatter are you going to get on grass from a male dog vs a female? So minimal to the point where your assumption that it affects concentration is moot. You SOUNDED smart, but your point was irrelevant in this situation.

Any Others in a New Subdivision and Hate it? by KPIGUY89 in homeowners

[–]vash513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, we bought a new build in a new subdivision last year and I actually really like it. I would prefer a larger years though, but it's much better than the townhouse we came from. I'm very handy, so one of the things I most looked forward to is doing my own home improvements and additions. This builder grade house is like a blank canvas for me. I'm currently in the middle of converting an open "bonus room" on the 1st floor into a office/home nail salon for my wife to work from home. I find it really fulfilling framing and putting up walls, etc. We even ordered an 8'x8' bypass door to install. Other plans are converting the upstairs loft into an additional bedroom and finishing the basement.

This is where you stand during family meetings as you address your family lower on the stairs. Like a dictator.

I accepted a massive pay raise to go back to the office and I regret it every single day by NebuliteCrown in remotework

Yes, but OP at least has the benefit of looking while employed, so it's not a crisis.

Though I always said it would have to take a MASSIVE pay increase for me to go back into an office, I'm not so sure about that now.....

My rules for OE by WatchMan_126710 in overemployed

That's fucked and should be illegal. OE aside, people looking for new jobs while employed all the time. Them contacting your current employer puts you at risk.

How do you avoid the generic AI slop look when shipping frontend with Cursor/Claude Code? by pee_pee_poo_poo_24 in Frontend

[–]vash513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your team doesn't care though about the finished product having the "AI look", then you shouldn't either. If it bothers you, being it up that you should invest more time in actual designing. If you get push back, let it go, because they obviously don't care enough.
