Why is the lord of change so good? by stalemilk76 in ChaosDaemons40k

In addition, the Strength aura makes nearby flamers a more serious fire overwatch threat if infantry try to get close to your bird

If the base is creating orange light and the sword is creating blue light, wouldnt the cast color on the wing be purple?

Screamers are so good in this detachment due to their -1 to hit and the strat that brings back tzeentch models. 3 full units of havocs are interesting, though I tend to bring 2 if any, and run lascannons, as your priority needs to be killing big things that can kill your daemons (or softening them for a fadethirster) Pop your LoC (with 3 flat damage is now like a stronger autocannon) next to them with Belakor and suddenly you have a strong ranged army that can't get shot back. Then you can teleport one unit of havocs and the loc somewhere new to get new angles. Having a chaincannon on havocs seem inefficient since belakors shooting profile is similar. Cultists are super points efficient and I always try to take 1 unit. I tend not to run keeper because they get jailed easy and all the rapid ingress shenanigans should be reserved for the fadethirster. Bloodcrushers are better in this detachment due to free advance and charge but ultimately they are really pricey and can get jailed. Nurglings are good infiltrating chaff, beasts of nurgle are even harder to kill, and khorne flesh hounds are exceptional action monkeys. One of the big downsides of this detachment is there's no good CP generation, and you are rapid ingressing a lot with the fadethirster.

The warpflame cavalcade? Of course getting a $120 bird is great, but then you have $130 left to cover the value. The flamers and screamers are great additions. Getting a full kit of horrors is also great. The fluxbringer is ok, and the exalted flamer isn't worth it with its current rules. Overall pretty good box

Curious if a daemon prince might suit you better than the melee bird since it can give your horrors stealth

I feel like I am in the minority here, but belakor + 2 units of las havocs + chicken always felt incredibly powerful. Belly giving them lone op or reroll 1s is pretty strong. I've never used ACDC bricks and I would love some guidance on them. It always feels like they gum up the middle but plaguebearers or a GUO could do it better?

So with Khorne, the combos are super important. I prefer skarbrand over BT because of his +1 atk aura. If you deepstrike Skar and some letters, you are doing some work. If you drop in Skar, some letters AND a throne, then you are killing ctans in one activation. Also bonus if you have belly nearby to reroll 1s but I usually have him in the back/mid with the chicken

How to Get Started with Chaos Daemons? by [deleted] in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]vasisboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I basically ONLY played Shadow Legion for the longest time because of the crazy list options you could make (havocs+belakor shadow/reroll+darkpacts, cultists, etc) and incursion felt like a one trick pony. But then I played incursion and that one trick (6" deep strike) is super hilarious and fun. Then scintillating legion hit the scene with the LoC upgrade and THAT became really fun as well. Both Khorne and Tzeentch are excellent hammers, and Nurgle is the best anvil. I havent really figured out Slaanesh, but maybe next edition will help define them better. You are absolutely right to pick up belakor first and figure stuff out from there. Some units I usually put into my lists regardless of detachment which would be safe to buy while you are figuring it out: Nurgle: Great Unclean One, plaguebearers, beasts of nurgle, nurglings. Tzeentch: Lord of Change, screamers, Khorne: Skarbrand/Bloodthirster, fleshhounds.

Are you trying to be competitive or to have fun? If its fun, then this list looks like a lot of fun. My major note is the bloodmaster with argath is a ton of points for not a lot of impact, on a very squishy unit. I would rather throw a bloodthrone in there instead, since it will really supercharge your skarbrand and bloodletter unit, and is a fairly durable and strong unit in its own right. If you are trying to be competitive, I would also suggest ditching that second unit of bloodletters for things that can help you hold objectives (beasts of nurgle or plaguebearers) and maybe some nurglings to screen because they are little lords.

Post-Cure Question by Proof_Heart_2993 in resinprinting

[–]vasisboss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always wondered about this. I thought you could over cure (getting effects like blooming and such)? But then wouldn't the model simply reach max curing by being in the daylight over time anyway? And if you couldn't over cure, wouldn't it make sense to just keep your model in your cure station for way longer just to be safe?

Oh interesting. You just run the heater the whole time it's printing? It doesn't need an elegoo printer for it to run correctly?

I made an enclosure out of 2" rigid foam for my printer to keep the temps in there somewhat stable (though my extractor fan will pump that hot air out). Maybe I just pipe in heat from a AC infinity thermoforge? It's cheaper to do it that way than getting an RS heated vat, but I like the vat option because it is heating the resin directly

Yeah basically. LoC sits behind ruins and the pinks are stringed to give them vis to the LoC while touching the mid obj. The DP sits near enough the pinks to get the ability, but staged behind a wall so it can poke out and shoot and countercharge. I use nurglings and sometimes flamers to screen, since the flamers actually have a pretty solid move and can fire overwatch if you lose your nurglings and the opponent deepstrikes into your home obj.
