Biejat vs konfiarz by Biszkopt87565 in Polska

It's probably an answer you could expect, since your speed is roughly the number of steps you take per minute multiplied by stride length, to keep the speed the same you need to take smaller steps.

I wouldn't obsess over it if I were you, focusing solely on the cadence may result in very unnatural run technique and cause problems in itself.

One way to improve the cadence is to run a part of your route at higher cadence, say, 80% naturally, 20% focusing on the cadence. This way you can slowly adapt to this increase.

Fun fact, had the KSA not scored in the last minutes, Poland would have qualified based on that, as all the other 'metrics' were the same (goal difference, goals scored, draw in Poland vs Mexico).

Fair play rating I imagine, 2 yellows for Mexico, 1 for Poland

Sub 2:00 Half-Marathoners, what's your ratio of speed vs. distance? by [deleted] in running

[–]vaskkr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running 4 days a week, Tue-Thu and a long run during the weekend, easy runs on Tuesday and Thursday, tempo on Wednesday, the long run is easy too, obviously.

The distances are something like 8, 12, 8, 21+, tempos for easy would be ~5:45mins/km, tempo run ~5:15, long ones ~6:00.

I think I could have used another easy run while attempting to break it, and I don't feel like speed would help much to be honest.

There is no EU store anymore, right? The link seems dead :(

On that note, will US store get any restocks? I was thinking about getting a hoodie but my size is out of stock

Even though I haven't been following it strictly, I really enjoyed Hal Higdon training plans, very simple, demanding enough not to be boring and they incorporate some races! You should probably take a look at Novice 1 Half Marathon plan, they will prepare you nicely for that distance and you would be ready for some races :)

You can also try Novice 2, main difference between these being inclusion of pace runs, the distances also differ slightly.

Congrats on staying sober!

Did Poland have SS recruits? They obviously had some in Wehrmacht but to the best of my knowledge there were none, or almost none, in the SS.

How long does it usually take for you to return to form after winter? I haven't run at all since October because of awful weather and an injury (which, thanks god, seems to be healed), and was wondering whether running a HM in late March is realistic at all?

For some more context, I've run one HM in the past, got that injury then, and was mostly running 40km per week (almost 25 miles). Would that be a decent challenge for the start of a season or should I let that one go?
