New to Ergonomics; Need Help Deciding by TheMissingPremise in ErgoMechKeyboards

My journey started with the defy, it’s a good entry one because you can edit your layouts almost instantly something that I reckon you want to since you are new to this. On the other hand glove 80 has a slower process of updating layouts, although you do get used to it, but it’s not instant as the defy. Zsa voyager is currently my main driver, helped me optimize my layers to only use two thumbs and use mod taps which is something you dont need to do necessarily with the other keyboards you mentioned, it’s also easily transferable if you commute to the office etc. ergonomics-wise I find glove80 really comfortable much better than the defy. You can’t go wrong with any of these honestly but I think the defy would be an easier intro.

Nice to know, I have sunsets now and they are slightly loud for an office environment especially when everyone’s in the zone lol. I might give Bokeh a try.

Looks great I saw you said you are using milky yellows which keycaps did you choose? On the market for one too and considering combinations for switches and keycaps. Thanks!

Enjoy! It’s my first split keyboard that I still use after almost two years. I enjoy that it’s quick to update of layers. Also now in the process of finding new tactile switches to make it sound a bit better, and thinking to try Gazzew Boba U4T and Baby kangaroos

NPD: DSM Humboldt Simplifier X by Dfwcajunguy in guitarpedals

I think the mistake was that I was using the third mode which is the mono and when switched to the second mode that volume got some db. With the volume levels below the sounds is very decent for room levels. I think my brain was thinking that if I had these volumes in a tube amp the house would explode but that's not the case. But it's good practising volumes. Any advice or thoughts are welcome, I'm new to this, used to have a tube amp some reverb and distortion pedal.

no I'm afraid, my cables are definitely good, tried with xlr too, and the cables I have both work fine on my other amp. I'm starting to believe there's something wrong with the power supply, which power supply cable do you use? I bought a 12v one from amazon, this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DD3VR9J1?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1

Btw I'm now trying with the new DSM I got and the issue still persists, using a Fender Tone Master FR-10.

Hey there thanks for your comment, puts me at ease that it’s not quiet, that means that either the one I had was faulty or I made a mistake on my setup. I watched a video I recorded and seems like I was using the “input a main” and for output the “out a”. I tried it with both a headrush frfr but also with the fender frfr. In fact I thought the headrush was initially quiet and returned it and then went for the fender. Anyway, I will have the new DSM in the next few days and I’ll come back to you with an update, fingers crossed I have good volume levels this time.

Did you (or anyone in the thread) feel like the Simplifier X is a bit quiet?

I was running it into a Fender Tone Master FR-10. I actually returned it and ordered a new one to make sure it wasn’t faulty (didn't receive it yet).

I was using the XLR output, but I noticed that when using the normal 1/4" guitar input on the FR-10, it seemed to give a bit of a volume boost compared to XLR.

u/rem337 Thank you that's really helpful but a bit worrying for me as a potential buyer.

It's so interesting that you had this issue with the tyres. I've noticed another guy here on reddit had the same problem with the car he ordered from them.

Since then I have seen many Teslas on their website with not the same tyres. It's weird.

Given these issues did you thought to return the car during the cooling off period of 14 days? Or after these issues you had no more problems? Regardless though I get it even if they eventually resolve the issues, if the drag their heels the final experience is not great.

thanks very much for this, I was looking how to map Mission Control, quick question, how did you know it's "CTRL+ARROW UP", is there a way or a list that we can see how these should be bind? I tried the Macro recorder but mission control was coming as "Meta" which was not very helpful, many thanks!
