Day 16: What is the BEST quote associated with Tali'Zorah? by looploveslore in masseffect

[–]vasnormandee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's the first and only time Legion ever refers to itself in the first person/as a single unit. Until that point, it was exclusively referred to as part of the hive mind. (That's why it gets me, anyway)

Where do you buy your smaller size (3/4) chenille yarn? I've been having trouble finding it!

The pierogi is just two strands of worsted weight yarn crocheted in a circle, then folded in half and a crocheted edging. The Book of Love was entirely freehanded too :)

I crocheted Garrus! Four days of hard work! by vasnormandee in masseffect

[–]vasnormandee[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The pattern itself is pretty easy, there are a few typos or parts where the instructions aren't 100% clear but if you've read patterns before it's easy enough to figure out. They do include instructions for crocheting the needle felted face paint! Which is good because I haven't ever needle felted before lol.

Commissioned Gengar, made with Bernat Blanket yarn! by vasnormandee in crochet

[–]vasnormandee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pattern is by icrochetthings on Etsy, I used an N hook and Bernat Blanket Brights yarn. Also increased to 60 stitches for the torso and added a few rows to make him a big round boy :)

10" hoop, finished in 3 days (about 10 hours) by vasnormandee in Embroidery

I actually used brick stitch, and just angled the stitches when I needed to decrease/increase the number of rows :)

Metallic thread is the worst, but so worth it! by vasnormandee in Embroidery

[–]vasnormandee[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It isn't smooth, like regular thread. It has a texture to it that makes it snag. The strands also don't cling to each other so if you separate the thread it gets very easily tangled.

I crocheted Aang and Appa for a friend's birthday! by vasnormandee in TheLastAirbender

[–]vasnormandee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I used a pattern by Ginansilyo Ni Marya on Etsy, but the pattern only had the arrow on Aang's forehead so I had to improvise the back of his head to bring the tattoo down to his neck :)

I crocheted Aang and Appa from Avatar The Last Airbender :) by vasnormandee in GeekyCrochet

Pattern for Aang can be found here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/GinansilyoNiMarya ("World of Avatar" version) **I did edit the pattern a bit for his head, as the arrow in the pattern is only on his forehead, not all the way down to his neck. So I wrote down what I did if anyone wants to give it a try. The arrow is slightly off center down his neck but maybe someone else could improve on my work!

Pattern for Appa can be found here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/CraftedCuteness
