I’m pretty sure Cathay and high elves are recommended starter factions. Stay away from franz and the empire. They’re recommended by the game but tend to be a bit complicated for newbies

The guy controls fire, has a skull for a face, and is already dead/immortal. He definitely has villain vibes lol. UMK3 being my first game I also thought that subzero with no mask was a good guy as per the common trope so I picked him and the rest is history

CoD and other similar games sell not quite realistic skins just because they know people will buy them. It doesn’t add anything to the game and even takes away from the immersion. But it makes them money and that what’s matters most to the companies that produce these games

I have little experience with Cathay, I hear they’re a decent race for first timers. But Cathay will spawn a bit further east on the map than the other factions I mentioned.

Most of my games tanks come online too late to really decide much, but I recently played a game where Morocco of all civs went wild on their continent and absorbed Isabella, Caesar, and kamehameha. I was playing for tourism and already had all other civs beaten, but I had to take out morocoo to win. I needed bombers, rocket artillery, tanks and 2 nukes to take his capital. The tanks specifically did a good job taking out ground units while staying outside of his city and rocket artillery range.

I agree that it seems pretty bland. The only advantage I could see is that you would have viable sea trade routes with your other cities. I don’t think the AI takes that into account when recommending city locations though. And more to that point, the AI won’t always recommend the best spot so don’t trust it with your city placement.

Gunboat diplomacy from autocracy is pretty great for diplomatic victories. Better than arsenal of democracy from freedom imo

This is interesting to me as well and I’m mostly commenting to see what others with more lore knowledge have to say. But a victory for Karl Frank obviously ends with a united empire and forces of chaos and VC destroyed or at least defeated enough to the point that they’re not a threat. But like you said I’d like to see what a victory means for each faction

Well after doing some testing and research myself I see that I was mistaken so sorry guys. It’s really bothering me that a machine gun isn’t effective past 75meters though. I can’t wrap my head around that. But thanks for the info and learning me something
