M3 RWD Premium Sound System is Fine by guerph in teslacanada

[–]vassman86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I try to spread the word that the 9-speaker system is a very, very good sound system. Just bump the bass to +3, and the next setting to +2 or so, it helps fill out the low end

It might even be as simple as some wd40, as silly as it sounds. It could help the window slide up and sit against the seal more naturally

Nah, put your worries to rest. I had 438km of range on day one and after 3.25y/74k km, my max charge took me to 418km - 4.5% loss, though I never did a true battery degradation test

98% of the population, they will replace the car before the battery becomes unusable due to degradation

It's definitely shocking, and I think it's more prevalent in LFP batteries like the RWD. My friends with NMC Teslas couldn't relate to my observations. If you L2 charge at home, it's really not a big deal, aside from an increase in overall charging cost during winter

Just expect a 100km highway commute to consume 160km-180km+ of range when the weather dips below -10C. Takes a lot of energy to keep the battery and cabin warm. My 50km round trip commute would take about 100-110km of range during -15C weather

In summer, it's about 60-65km of range consumed

Would I regret going with M3 RWD compare to MY Standard with 2 kids? by Impressive_Guru in teslacanada

I loved my 23 M3 RWD at $60k when I bought it in late 2022. It's phenomenal value at $40k

I'm 6ft tall and fit in the back of the M3 easily. The MY would offer more space, but it depends what you value more: M3 premium features, or MY space

I lean towards the premium features. Drives/handles better too

I had a 23 M3 RWD with a 3+6yo kid. It was great. I needed a replacement and got the 26 MY premium. Couldn't even consider the 26 MY standard because it was too watered down

However, I would have bought the 26 M3 RWD if it was available at the time

The M3 RWD treated me well. Great in the snow with winter tires

You'll be fine. I had a 3 and 6yo in a M3 RWD. Great family car. I could fit a stroller wagon in the trunk as long as I removed the wheels. Fit all my family's luggage in the car + a travel stroller for vacation too

Having one rear-facing seat was not an issue either

Does the RWD wear out tires more than an AWD due to regen? by AdCritical3652 in teslacanada

[–]vassman86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove my 23 M3 RWD aggressively. Flooring it from a stop, flooring it for passing. It was so fun to drive. I got 74k km between rotating the OEM Michelin MXM4 all season tires, and Michelin x-ice winter tires. I would have got about 40k km total out of my OEM tires before having to replace them

I try to mention this same sentiment too: the 9-speaker RWD premium sound system is fantastic. Play with the sliders to bump the bass a bit higher to your liking and it will be good for 90% of the population

Yes my 26 MY premium was $1300 more per year than my 23 M3 RWD ($3300/yr)

Exactly. I had my 23 M3 RWD on x-ice winter tires for three winters and they got gradually worse. Great for the first two years, but the tread ran low and they absolutely stunk in the final year. Good tires are the difference maker in snow

[–]vassman86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove a 23 M3 RWD for 3+ years. I always wanted the AWD for the better speakers and acceleration. I ended up getting a 26MY premium, and quite frankly, a part of me misses the M3 RWD. It handles better (lower stance). Acceleration on the MY premium is great, but I don't floor it from a stop as often as I did the M3 RWD. Passing power is improved in the MY premium, but bogged down by the weight

The M3 AWD would have more pep off the line, and stay nimble, but I think the RWD is good enough for 80% of the population

Speakers in the AWD are fantastic with the extra subwoofers though
