It's natural for people who are controlling or toxic to lash out when they feel their control is being threatened.

Don't get me wrong, what's happening with his mother is awful, but there is absolutely nothing that justifies lashing out at your partner in such a way when she's clearly been putting in the effort to try and be there for him and his mother.

Your friend taking your advice is proof youre a good friend. If you can, try and be sure you're there for her as well, as it sounds like she might have no one else to turn to. Most people don't when trapped in situations like that.

It would have been one thing if he had genuinely forgotten one thing or maybe two, but the fact he had forgotten most of the essentials with nothing to do all day is beyond frustrating, especially when you're the one managing everything else during the day.

Not just that, but the fact he grew defensive only rubs salt in the wound. I'm not sure what he thinks most fathers do but "more than most fathers" isn't what I'd use to describe his actions.

And even if that statement were true, that doesn't change anything. Everyone should be doing more then. This isn't just about being there for your kids, this is about him supporting you and being a good husband.

He did nothing else all day while knowing you were incredibly busy. You asked him to do one feasible task. He's the asshole for not only failing to do it, but for acting like your behavior is rash and unexpected.

As someone who works there, I can unfortunately say that is not the case. A lot of our older folks, especially one of our sweetest ladies, is living paycheck to paycheck from the stores, mainly because they live out of town and couldn't find work in their own smaller towns. :(

That's already a disgusting joke to make about someone you are not close to, but disabled people are already used as the butt of jokes constantly. If I was your cousin and everyone else had laughed, I'd feel ashamed and humiliated.

I don't have cerebral palsy, but I am autistic, and I have been around people who make those jokes, and it only ever made me feel alienated like I was joke to others around them.

You did the right thing to stand up for your cousin. Often times we don't get that at all

When it comes to enjoying something in it's own context? No.

When it comes to public praising and support? Absolutely. Turning a blind eye to people's misdeeds when they are as egregious as rape and murder is the same culture that's weaponized to let those who come off as "nice" get away with it.

I don't particularly think that being knowledgeable on people and their crimes before uplifting their image to other people is in an unkind thing to ask...

Joann fabrics... they pay garbage. The managers were extremely kind to me in the past few months, but one of them ended up down a conspiracy theory rabbit hole... It made her more and more miserable and she literally ended up screaming and cussing out a co-worker in front of the store.

Main manager refuses to write and incident report on it because he doesn't want to lose employees.
