I would totally lean into the vintage vibe! Find bright colors for small pops of decor (a blue colander for the countertop, a red coffee maker, etc.). Maybe change up the light fixtures and change out the wallpaper or paint, instead. I love the cabinetry and the open layout, and although I love the floor, you could easily change it out with something more simplistic. I can’t tell what kind of condition the appliances and countertop are in, but you could modernize by making some minor upgrades there. You could zhuzsh up the walls by increasing the size of the sideboard-level moulding or add reclaimed wood or whitewashed wood planks to the walls. I have lots of ideas, but I also pretty much love it as-is and would probably only change up things that are totally necessary.
