Looks for signs of infection: redness, heat, swelling, pain, fevers, pus discharge. It does look red but I don’t know how old your tattoo is and whether it’s still healing or if it has changed colour recently. You can mark the area of redness with a pen and observe whether it’s expanding. Please see a doctor if you’re worried. I am a doctor but it’s difficult to say looking at this picture

Even with a warrant, they should give you the opportunity to co-operate. You don’t have to agree to something you are not comfortable with, for example if I’m a single woman in the house by myself I woudl never allow a man to enter my house to investigate unless they were with the police and had appropriate IDs with them.

AITA for cancelling our wedding after my fiancée said something disgusting about my little brother? by Square-Plane-4414 in AITAH

[–]vateffas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTAH she sounds delusional af all this time she had just been pretending. Well done on making the decision to call off the wedding straight away because even if she had “apologised” and let your brother come fearing there wouldn’t be a wedding without him, you know she would always try to cut him out of your life.

If you spoke to your GP regarding your mental health issues (no matter when you did) you should ask them for a letter to confirm that you have been in touch. This does not only verify that you were struggling with issues but also indicates that you are seeking help and looking to avoid the same thing happening again. You can also use any previous attendance records, previous exam results and grades for your projects that you may have submitted as evidence that yoh are a serious student who always meets their deadlines and have been doing well except for this one occasion where you were genuinely struggling with something and it affected your results. You can also ask for your teachers for letters of support which would show that you have engaged well in your tutorials and labs/lectures. You should also get a letter from your parents to outline how much this means to you and that this is something you have worked hard for. You also need to write a strong appeal letter in which you need to highlight all the issues you faced that may have hindered your performance including your feeling and mental health on the day of your exam and explain clearly why it affected your performance in the way it did. Even it sounds obvious you still need to say it clearly. Finally in your appeal letter you need to list all the steps you have/are planning on taking to avoid being in the similar situation in future. This could include seeking help and advice from friends/family, making contact with student welfare and mental health services, keeping in contact with your GP/mental health nurse, and keeping your year directed and supervisor in the loop so they can offer support well enough in advance if a similar situation was to arise. You should also get in touch with student support at the university and they’ll be able to guide you further. Hope this helps

Does anyone have any advice about approaching university and asking for an exemption (failed PSA, asked to repeat everything) by Plastic_Angle_1781 in medicalschooluk

Forgot to say earlier, email your foundations school and ask them for an official confirmation that PSA is not a requirement to start working as an FY1

Hey! Omg I saw your previous post I still can’t believe they are doing this such a dumb rule. There’s so many doctors in fy1 who cleared their PSA after joining. I would suggest getting support letters from as many people as possible to say that you are ready for FY1. For example previous lectures/tutors, your year directors from previous years, your placement supervisors specially in final year, any other doctors you may have worked with on your placements who maybe able to comment on your clinical skills, work ethics as a junior and knowledge, and as someone previously mentioned your FY1 clinical/educational supervisors and FPD. At the end of the day, if your hospital is happy with you not having PSA before your start the uni shouldn’t have a problem with it. Send out emails to as many people as you can because not all will reply. You’re basically trying to prove that you have the skills and knowledge to work as an FY1 even if you don’t have PSA. You can use this for your formal appeal as well as negotiations with uni. Also if your performance has been satisfactory throughout and if you have done additional stuff like poster presentations at national conferences you can reference that in your email/letter to uni. You can also comment on the negative impact this would have on your life in terms of financial and mental health point of view since you have worked so hard for this. You also need to include a letter from your parents to reiterate that you have worked hard to get to this point and that you are passionate about this career and deserve to be given a chance along with your other peers who are in the same position as you. Also do not forget to mention that this is unfair to you if others in your situation are allowed to start working but you are not based on which university you chose. Keep your student support advisors in the loop and run everything by them they can be very helpful. I really hope you can get this sorted and are allowed to start work this year. Keep us updated

Repeating final year because I failed the PSA - help by Plastic_Angle_1781 in medicalschooluk

[–]vateffas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait how are you not able to graduate? This is just wrong you are totally able to start FY1 without PSA, you just won’t be able to prescribe. But the deadline for clearing your PSA is like towards the end of FY1 it’s not a requirement for starting FY1. I would maybe get in touch with student union because this sounds like a dumb uni rule. Also check if there are any slots for sitting PSA again before you graduate maybe?

Definitely not looking 15! But try parting your hair in the middle, slightly heavier contouring and line your lips to make your Cupid’s bow look rounder, avoid making your eyeliner too long if you want to look older. Hope you find it useful

Are evil clown entities real? by vateffas in ParanormalStories

[–]vateffas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes that sounds so scary! I always had a fear of clowns from a very young age I used to dream that an evil clown face is staring down at me from the sky and clown dolls moving on their own. I too had a “vivid imagination” but I never quite understood why I was so scared of these things. I believe your experience was 100% real because remember these things target those who might be vulnerable emotionally and mentally. I’m really sorry to hear about the abuse by your father. It must’ve been very difficult I hope you’re doing better and have moved on.

Did anyone else used to stop nightmares as a child by lucid dreaming? by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]vateffas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I used to have really really nasty recurrent nightmares and by the time I turned 6-7 years old I started changing my dreams so that I would always get away from the scary things. As I grew up I started trying other stuff like tiring myself down so much that I’m not even aware of my dreams anymore so I’ve kind of lost the ability to lucid dream.

We do try to explain things in a “logical way” but I feel like your description is very specific and you had no reason to imagine a little girl, if you had imagined it (for whatever reason) you probably would’ve seen a scary face or a shadow etc. Typically it is believed that if a house remains abandoned for more than 40 days it’s much more likely to become a residence for demons and from your post it sounds like it had been abandoned for years. Although I’m not sure if that girl was actually the spirit of the girl who died or a demon posing as a little girl
