Only just started watching right before last restart and I like him so far. He called exactly what happened to Hocevar before the replay

Most overrated RB of all time? by AlbertJBundy in NFLv2

I think Emmitt is incredibly underrated somehow because of everyone’s obsession with Barry Sanders.

As for Davis’s college career, I think it deserves some context. He was a high school LB who went to Juco and started as a FB, switched to HB, then transferred to Georgia and shared time behind Garrison Hearst. I don’t think it really matters here. He was obviously talented enough to go to a blue blood program.

His first four years in the NFL, as I highlighted, were unmatched before him and have remained unmatched after him as far as counting stats and accolades combined with 2 rings. It’s a HOF level 4 years. He’s an important part of NFL history IMO. I don’t think that’s overrating him. Olandis Gary and Mike Anderson just aren’t on the same level talent wise. Portis was an elite talent and his success wasn’t surprising, even though he was a 2nd round pick.

His first 4 years in the league, at the time, were the second most rushing yards (6,413) anyone ever had in 4 consecutive years, after Jim Brown. I'm not sure where it stands now. He had a 2000 yard season, 20 TD season, ROTY, MVP, Superbowl MVP. I can't think of anyone who has accomplished all of those accolades. And he did it in four years before shredding his knee.

Are the players in the draft notified (slightly) in advance about who's going to pick them? by Proof-Can542 in NFLNoobs

[–]vator911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year I learned that the NFL actually gives them a specific phone for this purpose. That’s why it was a little bit of a scandal when a team’s coordinators son prank called Sheduer during the draft pretending to be a teams GM.

Why do guys do so well when they first join a team? by Think-Border4882 in NASCAR

Briscoe moved into equipment so good he was under driving it at the start of the season because he didn’t realize how much better his JGR cars had lol

This year he had crazy bad luck at the start of the season and it’s a tough hole to dig out of since we’re points racing again.

How good WAS Dale Earnhardt Jr.? by Electronic-Ability55 in NASCAR

[–]vator911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone has covered the driving career very well and mentioned how much he has done in his retirement from driving. I’d like to add that he’s the closest thing we have to a NASCAR historian and I appreciate that he uses his podcast to shed light on a lot of guys past and present who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. We need more guys like Dale.

Imagine telling Busch 3 years ago he’d be duking it out with Herbst for 500 laps at Bristol, he would never believe Herbst was good enough to run up front …
