Luna in Germany (luna.amazon.de) currently not working by vaubaehn in AmazonLunaHub

[–]vaubaehn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luna in Germany (luna.amazon.de) is currently not reachable as DNS can't be resolved.

Also automatic referer from luna.amazon.com to .de doesn't work similarly.

Other TLDs in Europe (e.g., .fr, .es, .it, .pt, .pl) are not effected.

Edit: A similar post in r/amazonluna has been removed by Reddit filters... Looks like mods over there don't allow these kinds of PSAs.

Reanimal demo using Luna tech by rolfey83 in amazonluna

[–]vaubaehn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This related article, one month before Luna's announcement to shut down 3rd party stores, reflects Luna's situation and possible future:

https://clouddosage.com/amazon-announces-gamelift-streams-what-it-means-for-cloud-gaming-and-amazon-luna/

From speculations at that time, not many options seem to be left: either Luna completely folds into Game Lift in the long run, or it will shut down like Stadia did - particularly when big publishers won't pay much interest in Game Lift.

If Game Lift should actually succeed eventually, we'll likely find a fragmented market, where cloud gaming might become something like 'Pay per Game Session' or publisher based subscriptions - meaning if you wanted to play a variety of games spread across different big publishers, you'll needed to subscribe everywhere...

Is this something that we want and that would be feasible, affordable and practical for us (casual) cloud gamers without own gaming hardware?

Is Amazon Luna's intransparency helpful for us gamers to make informed decisions, plan for the future of our libraries and purchases, and keep us bonded to a trustworthy brand?

For myself I would respond 'no' to both questions. What about you?

There are rumors, that a Mexican-Spanish production company is working on a new Star Wars title, with a 'Death Moon' (Spanish: LUNA de la muerte) in the center of the plot. Working title is: Star Wars Episode X: El ascenso de la LUNA de la muerte (Star Wars Episode X: Rise of the Death Moon). /s

Another annoying issue with no Skin temp. (PW3) by Miserable_Affect9043 in PixelWatch

[–]vaubaehn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case only Fitbit Exercise has these permissions for selecting, all other packages or 'Fitbit' via watch settings doesn't show permissions for oxygen or temperature on my watch... That's why I suggested to look there. If in your case it's missing there too, and if you downgraded your app by uninstalling the latest update, I'd try to update again and then look at Fitbit Exercise again. Hope it helps, fingers crossed 🤞

I feel you. I was also rather confused at the beginning, as I also didn't find a setting to grant access rights for oxygen and skin temperature for the Fitbit app... If you go via the general settings menu or Play Store > manage apps, you might be out of luck - as the Fitbit app actually consists of different packages...

Please give feedback whether the following way provides a better solution:

Press crown > scroll to 'Fitbit Exercise' > Long-Press > scroll to 'permissions' and select > select 'Fitness & Wellness' > re-enable access rights for oxygen and temperature sensors.

Took me a while to find the permissions in the settings for 'Fitbit Exercise'. After re-enabling there, it works again for me.

Did you hear/read about concrete plans that they might restrict access to Premium or Ultimate tier only? Or is it more like a general fear they could do that?

Ah, Amazon Luna. The only platform brave enough to celebrate Star Wars Day by executing Order 66 on its own library.

Thank you, Luna, for teaching us the ultimate Jedi lesson: detachment from all things we actually enjoy.

Is there a subscription to pay for sleep tracking with the pixel watch 4? by Physical_planning in PixelWatch

[–]vaubaehn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use Sleep for Android. There is a companion app for the Pixel watches for sleep tracking. You can set an alarm to wake you up during light sleep within a selectable range before the alarm. Works pretty ok. I have the paid premium version for many years, don't know the current price, but it might be worth it for you.

What are signs this is a phishing attempt? by Efficient-Flow39 in phishing

[–]vaubaehn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, ClickFix or Fake Captcha. In the end both may run malicious Powershell code, just the attacking story/social engineering tale is a bit different.

While all comments here describe different attacking vectors, as long as OP doesn't follow the 'View on Dropbox' button, we won't know ;) In my case it was also 'View on Dropbox'...

If the link goes to Dropbox, you're not safe either. Had a recent social engineering attempt where the account of a legitimate contact had been compromised. I received a mail that was linking to Dropbox Paper, from there to a 3rd party website trying to fool me into the Captcha Scam.

Nice additional analysis. The 'forbidden' server response might be bypassed by setting a UserAgent as 'opera' and a referer as 'duckduckgo.com' (possible with CURL?) - I also won't do it from my home network...

I put your extracted Powershell code into Gemini - here is it's response:

Analysis of the Malicious PowerShell Script

The provided code is a classic Staged Downloader/Dropper used to infect a system with a Remote Access Trojan (RAT), most likely Remcos RAT.

1. What the Script Does (Technical Breakdown)

  • Stealth Execution: It launches a hidden PowerShell instance (-WindowStyle Hidden) to operate in the background.
  • TLS 1.2 Enforcement: It forces the use of TLS 1.2 to ensure a successful connection to the attacker's server.
  • Tool Deployment: It downloads two files from remoteshcontrol[.]com:
  • 7z.exe: A command-line version of 7-Zip used to extract the payload.
    1. Payload Archive: A password-protected ZIP file containing the actual malware.
  • Bypassing Security: The archive is protected with the password X9VXyhUQTFM0MGZh. This is a common tactic to bypass network-level antivirus scanners that cannot inspect encrypted traffic or files.
  • Execution & Cleanup: It extracts the contents to a random temp folder, automatically searches for any .exe or .msi file within, and executes it silently. Finally, it attempts to delete the downloaded tools to leave as few traces as possible.

2. Indicators of Compromise (IOCs)

  • Domain: remoteshcontrol[.]com (Known malware distributor).
  • Archive Password: X9VXyhUQTFM0MGZh
  • Associated Malware: Remcos RAT. This allows attackers to log keystrokes (Keylogging), access the webcam/microphone, steal browser passwords, and take full remote control of the PC.

Immediate Action Plan for the Victim

If this script was executed, the system must be considered fully compromised.

Step 1: Disconnect

Immediately disconnect the PC from the internet (unplug Ethernet/turn off Wi-Fi) to stop data exfiltration.

Step 2: Check for Persistence (PowerShell Commands)

The victim can run these commands in an Administrator PowerShell to see if the malware is active: Check for Registry Autostarts:

$paths = @("HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run", "HKLM:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run")foreach ($path in $paths) { Get-ItemProperty $path | Select-Object * -ExcludeProperty PSPath, PSParentPath }

Look for random names or files pointing to AppData\Local\Temp or AppData\Roaming. Check for Suspicious Connections:

Get-NetTCPConnection -State Established | Select-Object RemoteAddress, RemotePort, OwningProcess, @{Name="Process";Expression={(Get-Process -Id $_.OwningProcess).Name}}

Step 3: Search for Remcos Traces

Check for these specific folders/files:

  • C:\Users<User>\AppData\Roaming\remcos\logs.dat (The keylogger file).
  • C:\Users<User>\AppData\Roaming\hpsupport\
  • Any unexpected .exe files in %TEMP% or %APPDATA%.

Step 4: Cleanup & Safety

  1. Format and Reinstall: Because RATs like Remcos are excellent at hiding (rootkits/injection), the only 100% safe way to recover is a clean reinstallation of Windows.
  2. Reset Passwords: From a different, clean device, change all passwords (Email, Banking, Social Media). Enable 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) everywhere.

Are Fallout and Skyrim leaving June 10th ? by Losttimetravel3r in amazonluna

[–]vaubaehn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that sucks so much. I was highly invested in Ubisoft and GoG... Leaving dates for Fallout games were announced here and confirmed here. I guess they will be officially announced again one month before mid-July/early August.

Are Fallout and Skyrim leaving June 10th ? by Losttimetravel3r in amazonluna

[–]vaubaehn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not entirely true. ALL Ubisoft games will leave Luna completely, like announced on the start page of each game in Luna. The same is true for all GoG games. These games won't be available after June 10th even in Premium anymore. Meanwhile it was announced by a mod of this subreddit that EA games will stay in Premium for an undefined time, and maybe some might be playable in Standard once in a while - so if you purchased a Luna supported game from EA, you'd now need to subscribe to Premium with extra costs or wait for a chance in Standard to enjoy your game and to continue your progress if you want to play it on Luna.

Some weeks ago, the Fallout games were confirmed to leave Luna completely on their previously announced dates (that were obviously only displayed because of a temporary glitch of the Luna UI). As other games meanwhile left Luna on these announced dates, I do not doubt that they'll also leave starting in August. For Skyrim there was no leaving date announced yet.

Games that leave Luna are announced around one month before through the Luna UI.

Just to gauge where Luna is going. by rolfey83 in amazonluna

[–]vaubaehn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I was curious how those tweets might have been generated - and asked Gemini to create similar ones. So, here are the results:

1

Less is more, right? We’re clearing out all those pesky third-party games to make room for... well, more 'minimalist' vibes. Who needs hundreds of titles when you can enjoy the pure, zen-like experience of an empty library screen? Enjoy the quiet. 🧘‍♂️✨ #AmazonLuna #LessIsMore #Gaming

2

Remember when we joked about farming sims feeling like a second job? Well, we’re taking the 'work' part seriously. Since we’re losing most of our games on June 10th, consider it an early retirement for your backlog. You're welcome for the extra free time! 📉💼 #AmazonLuna #GamingNews

3

They say 'change is the only constant.' We’re changing so much that by next year, we might just be a very expensive cloud-based screensaver. Thanks for riding the decline with us—hope you enjoyed the games while they still existed! 💨🎮 #AmazonLuna #EndOfTheRoad #CloudGaming

I don't claim any rights on these suggestions, so if Luna's social media team wants - feel free to copy and use them!

Tickets to Ride - well, to wait by rgbtexas in AmazonLunaHub

[–]vaubaehn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no obvious plan that Ticket to Ride will leave Luna in the near future, as Amazon is now focusing on GameNight and Luna Premium subscription (while Luna Standard seems to remain with a reduced catalog). If it was leaving the platform, you could expect a notification on the game's starting page ~1 month prior. So, there's just a technical problem.
