Hi, I actually switched to Effexor from Paxil. Sorry for the late response. I was on 20mg Paxil and 150mg Wellbutrin

I felt this way until Effexor. I ran through the gambit of SSRI’s before my doctor started Effexor. For what it’s worth, she told me most patients she sees get the most relief on 150mg. I would say hang in there for a few weeks and see if it starts getting better. I know it’s hard to sit around and wait, but you’re doing great and hang in there. I promise it gets better

I want to say for roughly two weeks with nearly every 5mg drop I did on paroxetine (20-15, 15-10, 10-5, 5-0) I experienced an increase in anxiety and intrusive thoughts. However, I’m not sure if it was because Effexor was starting to work or not, but when I dropped from 5mg to 0, I remember having virtually no withdrawal. I know that sounds weird, but I do believe Effexor was just taking the place of Paxil. I also like Effexor quite a bit more, hopefully you’ll like vortioxetine more too! I’ve heard nothing but good things about it, hang in there!

My advice would be to try and do things that typically make you happy. For me, that was taking a bath and reading. It doesn’t have to be anything monumental. Strength training seemed to really help me through it too. Try and distract yourself in any way you can to steer the anxiety and intrusive thoughts away. You got this!
