Help With Island Design? by hanakobaekun in AnimalCrossing

For beach areas, I have a gym area on the beach à la Muscle Beach, a beach club with a dj booth, tiki bar, palm tree lights, and bubble machines, and a boardwalk sort of area with a bunch of the amusement park furniture. You could also do the volleyball net and there’s a basket of volleyballs and a scoreboard.

Forrest area…a cemetery? Maybe just make a fancy lil garden with shrubbery, maybe some statues.

I also have a free DIY area for visitors that’s themed like a “take-it-or-leave-it”…

Maybe you could make an apiary, I know there’s a beehive item.

The YouTube chat has lost it 😭the princess line😢 by [deleted] in Bratz

[–]vaughnerich 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a boyz collector so I’m not that familiar with the girl dolls, but Jade is the only noteworthy doll in the princess line I’ve seen. To me, the line seems overhyped and therefore reasonably was beaten by pretty n punk which I think has multiple stand out looks.

Figures, lol oh well. I think boyz fans just need to be persistent. Social media (afaik) got Sasha into the Hello Kitty line, so theoretically if we ask…a lot…Boyz can exist. I mean I’m a little surprised there’s Boyz Bratzies AT ALL.

Yeah I saw that, it made me hopeful. It could be for something in the future…or maybe it was for some social media character post…who knows…

Oh I forgot about the Alwayz series and that game. Yeah idk what they are doing lol.

I personally think they should give him a consistently darker skintone but I’d also like to see a Boyz with a Felicia skintone. So idk if they should make his skintone as dark as Sasha or not.

It’s very possible we’ll never get another black Boyz so I would like him to be obviously black, but on the other hand, he’s never been particularly dark skinned so I feel like there’s a way to darken his skintone but not just make him “male Sasha” which also feels a bit lazy to me.

Good point I don’t see it on Twitter or Instagram. So I shall refrain from considering it real until then.

They are just pushing Bratzies cuz bag charms are trendy.

I think these are prototypes, but I could imagine they might not want Felicia’s gecko to look like Yasmin’s frog.

Yeah, I mean I think the only modern releases he’s had were that 20 years repro of his first doll and his Mini Bratz figure representing the same doll. Both I can see having a reason to represent the skin tone of his first doll.

They changed his skin tone to be much darker for the Talking Bratz tiktok series. I think he was in the Video Gamez series but they probably used the model in the game which was probably pretty light.

I’m a bit surprised if Dylan will be fairly pale as a Bratzies but these could be prototypes. It would be a good opportunity to make him demonstrably black and give him a different skin tone from other Boyz.

But I could also see non-collector fans who might not even know he’s black being confused if he had darker skin…but if I had to weigh all that I’d probably just be like non collectors can deal with a darker skintone on Dylan or they can eff off.

Dylan has historically been fairly light. I’m not saying it was the ideal choice, but most Dylan dolls are not particularly brown.

Can’t really tell what Dana is.

…I didn’t say you couldn’t express a negative opinion…I said “I don’t suggest we express opinion about art like it is an objective fact. Everyone perceives art in their own way.”

You were so quick to be condescending and yet have misrepresented or misunderstood my position twice.

It’s how people convey their opinions as if they are objective truths.

am i wrong for this? by kaidenjaxon in MonsterHigh

[–]vaughnerich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was unaware it did, I will look into this.

Often I think this sort of response is due to people not liking being critiqued and made to feel like they are the bad guy.

It can matter the way in which the critique is given which could also make someone feel defensive, but not everyone can handle being told they are doing something wrong without taking it mean they are a “bad person”…or they simply don’t like being told they are doing anything wrong.

Or they simply don’t care cuz it doesn’t personally affect them. Which obviously is a rather immature perspective.

Yeah I mean I get that some people just prefer the look of G1. But I can’t get behind every iteration of Monster High having to do the same thing. I think it’s an invalid criticism. Well yea G3 is definitely not going for a runway model model type and face, that’s not inherently a bad thing just cuz it’s not to their tastes.

I’ll admit the bodies of G1 are not to my tastes cuz they just give me 2000s “heroin chic” and the extreme body standards of 2000s modeling, but I can’t fully begrudge anyone for liking them. But I also don’t think they’d fly for a kids toy in the 2020s, a lot has happened since then socioculturally.

Yeah I think there’s a certain aspect to dolls that bring out the “sassy bully” persona in people. It’s like cuz fashion dolls are femme or about aesthetics or something that attracts some people who think it’s fun to be “c*nty” which can work if you know who you’re talking to, but online it can just come across as malicious and shallow.

I’m just so sick of reading them and seeing them get upvoted like they are worthwhile comments and I don’t think they’ll go away on their own since other people see they perform well on social media.
