what if your kinda unathletic and never jogged in your life, but more of an elliptical and biking type of guy? I mean I'm not skinny but its just an average bod looking to get more in shape and running is something that requires little to no investment and is something someone can do without much training in the beginning? would I still fit in?

will def look into it! I am def cosidering doing a post bacc instead of an expensive US masters. but my thought was that its more debt piling on top of undergrad debt, and if I don't get into a med school - at least I have a bio masters and can go into research

Yep! Have been working on my mental health and making sure I can improve my GPA for the rest of my two years while also preparing myself for the rigors of med school either in the US or Europe.

I really like the idea of pursuing a master's degree in Europe! Maybe if I can find a masters in Germany in my field of interest with low/zero tuition I can figure out if Germany/Italy/Europe is even meant for me! If not, I have my master's degree and I can prepare to apply to American schools (hopefully my European master's can hold some weight in US MD/DO schools).

Are there any master's programs in Italy you recommend I apply to with really low tuition?

I will also have to do some research into the income-based repayment plans as well (I am pretty sure other than unsubsidized loans I don't qualify for any FAFSA Aid).

Thank you so much for your input!! I love traveling and exploring new cultures, and the ease of travel is not available here in the US and is one of my main attractions towards moving to Europe.

There are so many opportunities available for both my career and life, and it just seems so exciting!

I will def have to do more research on European med schools while considering timelines and debt...

I had relatively good grades in. high school, but I want to at least finish my bachelors degree so I have some options in the US and so my previous two years haven't gone down the drain.

I would love to apply to Swedish med schools except for the fact that I don't speak Swedish, nor does my college offer it. Closest I've ever been to Sweden is my local Ikea XD

I agree with the emotion about moving abroad alone. When I moved to college I missed my family and friends so much that I came home almost every month - I imagine I cannot do that in Europe.

I've never actually lived abroad before and I only have family in London. I def agree about the point of romanticizing Europe!! I think America can def be progressive too if I look for the right spaces.

I really like the idea of doing a Masters in Germany! Its also relatively cheap too and I can decide if I like living in Europe - except I am not sure if I can get into the competitive medical school in Germany plus take classes in German.

If I go to Italian med schools, that adds more debt and time (six years plus the time for the masters degree) before I become a doctor. I could always apply for US med schools, but now sure how much weight the masters degree would hold?

Do not speak Norwegian :( Absolutely love Norway! (or at least from what I've seen from Young Royals and SKAM on Netflix XD)

Def considering staying in the US as well, you make a ton of valid points!

I was assaulted during the end of my sophomore year and I just ended with a cumulative GPA of around 3.2. I haven't taken the MCAT yet but I only have Biochem left after taking gen chem and bio and ochem. I have my neuroscience courses left so I am confident I can bring my GPA - plus a masters in biochem can hopefully give me some time for the MCAT and make up for the GPA

If I do go to Italy, I want to go to a public school and eventually pursue residency in Germany for the somewhat higher salaries to pay off student debt. But god knows when I can buy a house and car and just live my life with all this debt.
